So if your daughter is like the 16th player on the team she will have played this fall 4 games avg. 10 minutes/game. that is exactly 1/2 of a full game all fall season. Holy moly that stinks!!
    Welcome to Select.

That's awesome. $3k for the privilege to watch football on game days....

        Must be some training...

Both GA & ECNL cap game day roster numbers at 17 or 18 i think. I just can't imagine playing on a team at this age where the roster exceeds the game day limit and kids are told "you don't get to play this week, but see you at practice on Monday." That must be so damaging to the player's psyche.

So both SSS & Stars Blue are carrying over 18 kids? Are other 2007 teams doing that as well or am i missing something?

How does it work? Are some kids practice only players? Does it rotate? Did parents know the arrangement going in?

It's normal in many leagues to only dress 18 for game day. Plenty of teams have >18 on a roster. 20 isn't a bad number but too high for that young. 20-22 max for HS age. Never join a team with more than that unless you're 100% confident your kid is a starter or first off the bench

Good advice, but I still have the same questions...

Yes, same situation at Select. Every week someone can’t play in the game because more kids are rostered than the allowable limit.

As to Stars, White has 18 players but Blue has 20.

Does Select rotate the kids who don’t play? Did you know that would be the situation going in? What about Stars Blue? How does it work there?

My D plays on the NEFC DPL Team and we play against SPOL during the regular season and tournaments for many years, very competitive games but almost every game a heated shouting match happens with certain parents on both teams, they are pretty relevant to us

                          18? No thank you.

                          20? We're outta here

                          22? You are fvckin' nuts

That's very helpful when you don't name the team.

Parents who have starters 1-11 don't care about the big numbers because their kids get minutes. Parents of kids 17-20 are desperate for their kids to be on the team so they put up with it.

Not sure why the people in the middle (12-16) accept the situation.

Wait until you get to HS. Some teams carry 27-28 kids on a roster.
