If there is gender discrimination in US soccer, let's look at the place that counts, college scholarship $$. There isn't a good reason for women getting 50% more $$ than men. Both similar sports; little if any revenue, same expense and infrastructure requirements.

College scholarship equality and title 9 have nothing to do with equal pay for equal works laws.

        College athletes are not employees.

The way to get more college soccer scholarships for boys is to cut back on the scholarships given to boys in other sports...mostly football. If football popularity decreases and colleges want to move some of that money over to boys soccer...that will help. Right now I think there are virtually zero females that get any scholarships money for football. It all goes to male students.

          Mens' football
          Title 9

Two good reasons. Oh, and USSF and FIFA have nothing to do with college sports or the NCAA.

Sorry your son didn't get a scholly.

Or it is acknowledged that CFB athletes are employees that help generate $$MM for their University and are paid a salary accordingly. They and perhaps CBB should we taken out of the equation so that real collegiate sports scholarships might be fairly granted.

They do have something to do with fairness, but all the complaints are one sided these days. BTW he did get a scholly.

Title 9 is about fairness. Why do you keep ignoring that?

Is it fair that transgendered women aren't allowed on the team? And why aren't more transgender females on ALL female teams for ALL sports? Why is this injustice against gender in equality allowed to go on?

Not everyone agrees that it is. A committee was formed to address this but Foudy sank their findings. Let's keep it skewed towards women to help them out.

LOL! Title 9 in the USA is what put Women's World Soccer on the map!

of course, but legally and organizationally the two are not related. Neither is the scholarship issue related to equal pay for the WNT

The relationship is in the US Bill of Rights, which says everyone is equal around here, no matter the organization.

This unequal treatment is unfortunately too common all around the world. It’s not just a US problem. The Irish women’s national team had the same issues a couple years ago.

                            https://extra.ie/2017/04/04/sport/so...-soccer-strike

The craziest thing to me is that USSF and these other national federations wrap themselves in the patriotic flag and promote women’s empowerment by sponsoring tournaments like the SheBelieves Cup, and the behind the scenes treat the women like indentured servants. It’s shameful.

lmao...bill of rights. We fail that every day. Women are not guaranteed the same protections under the constitution believe it or not. There are separate laws to protect them but it's not a part of the constitution. The Equal Rights Amendment, which was supposed to codify it once and for all, has never been passed in the required majority of states. The premise is:

“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”
