Wait, I thought the leagues and results matter?

You guys are all over the place.

There are several posters and mindsets in this thread. Some are all about leagues and results and some are not. I wonder what the recruiters think? Any help out there?

I think they only matter to get a good coach to see a player. The exposure is better on better teams and better leagues.

In college, playing softball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, theatre. Get the idea. In high school, you don't have to be a soccer player outside of high school.

The only non club soccer players (HS only) out there will be at the lowest of low soccer programs. Even then finding them would be a task because there's so few. They sure as sh*t won't be on a NCAA championship team except as a team manager or Gatorade schlepper.

don't fool yourself, basketball, softball and lacrosse come out of AAU almost exclusively. Hell, swimming has a robust club program (see Gardner's loss of state titles due to the bona-fide rule that a jealous parent ratted the swimmers out on). Tennis & golf, like track are individual sports and with easy measurables, so sure HS counts.

NEFC all over the place putting out the fire that is devouring DA. It is over folks. Tryouts will be rough. Families are complaining about traveling far for crappy games, training, rosters, and everything related to DA. Some are sending their kids to ECNL practices as we speak.

Old news. Have a friend in NY that said that a whole NYSC team showed up for one of the World CLass tryouts. NEFC needs to pull out while they still have players

They asked for people who played hs soccer and what they are doing outside of high school. Not soccer was the answer. So anyone out there is a club participant. Even the sports you named tennis, golf, track and bowling (another individual) along with swimming, kids are on club teams outside of high school. HS is for fun; has no value to translate into college play anymore.

This was on a thread on the CT board about OW. Sounds like OW is getting nervous too.

Sorry your little girl got cut during tryouts at OW. At least it’s easier to write “CFC” or “FSA” on your check. Enjoy the C team while you pay the way for the “United” or “elite”.
