I would make the following points:

      1) Of the 93 that played last season 15 were not rostered and 1 DNP, close to 20% of the kids.

      2) Of those remaining 63 or about 80% of the players were on the field half of the games.

      3) Of those that got much playing time, most or around 40 played the same as last year, 18 played much less, and 13 played more.

Overall there are some great players/performances on this list. Congrats to all these kids on their fine careers. A few still have the playoffs ahead.
Just a bump for those still in High school looking at these lists.

Note out to those still in HS who are contemplating playing college soccer....it is a very difficult endeavor and takes a huge commitment....the D3 list above has many HS All State, DAP and Club players who all were tremendous players at Club, DAP and HS level and yet they played D3 and not all flourished at the D3 level. It is very difficult to play in college at any level D1, D2 and D3, let alone for all 4 years....make sure those still in HS you choose the college for the college and not just soccer because you better be happy with your choice if the soccer doesn't pan out because statistics suggest that most won't play all 4 years, even at the D3 level.
just a bump again for those still in High School looking at these lists regarding how difficult it is to play soccer in college.

Laugh all you want, but the info is far more valuable in terms of warnings and advising the youth soccer parents coming up than BTDT's daily diarrhea of misery that is 100% wrong.

Absolutely. Some folks need to criticize because they have nothing better to do. That or they realized too little too late for the own kids and the reminders are too painful

Let the kids aspire to be great and stop telling them that the odds are against them....thrice daily. Everyone gets it. I would say the person with the agenda is the OP who seems obsessed to demonstrate over and over again that playing soccer in College does not work out for many involved.

No -most folks do not get it. It's great that this person is sending these important stats for our part of the region- this does not exist anywhere. Stats like this (like most stats) are very helpful in making INFORMED decisions and not decisions largely based on "a feeling" that it will work out. Please take your ignorance elsewhere.

It's not for the kids....it's for the parents. Absolutely let the kids aspire to be great (in something), but let's get a dose of informed reality to hopefully make an informed decision when it comes to college selection. It's good information/statistics and use it if you wish. Oh by the way playing any sport, not just soccer, in college typically doesn't work out for all 4 years. It's a very small % who do end up playing all 4 years.

You have got to be kidding. The guy hardly posts, except for providing and updating these lists every year which takes a lot of work and most appreciate it. He rarely offers commentary, which makes your focus on the OP seem very odd indeed. There ARE posters who are here every single day telling parents they are wasting their money and that any college soccer below D1 top 25 is a waste of time and that club soccer is completely unnecessary for all levels of D3. Maybe your time would be better spent criticizing that guy.

OP provides actual facts. Certain other posters only provide their opinions, often which are incorrect or apply only to their own personal experience.

I think it's valuable for kids also. A little dose of reality when making such a big decision - in other words, if soccer doesn't work out for whatever reason, will you be happy at this school? In the absence of soccer, is this the best fit for you academically and socially? Is the soccer good/right skill level for you? BONUS. Money to attend school. JACKPOT. All in that order

Only the thread isn't about advice, it's about data. It is consistent with other sources, both fact based and personal experience with friends and family who have played college sports. It is just one source of information in the complicated decision process.
