Who then go on to mediocrity and offers from low level NAIA teams.

So what's wrong with those offers if the school's fit your athlete's needs in their education .
Never heard anyone complain about getting offered assistant's for free because their child was good at doing something.
It's amazing this thread is still going. But this must be what happens when you don't leave the farm but once a month

Point made. Even if 'assistance' isn't given but maybe a highly rated school gives your kid another look, it's gravy.

I don't understand the argument. Play ECNL if you can afford it, your dd may or may not play college soccer, may or may not get financial assistance, it may or may not help her get into a college that she might have been borderline in regards to acceptance. In the mean time it's just better soccer, more competitive. From a parental stand point, once you watched a few matches it's painful to go back watching the alternative. There is no downside to ECNL

        What's the alternative?
You can attempt to do the same thing without it. I would argue ones odds of success are diminished. But it's gravy as well.

In the end, it's just girls soccer. Other then the coaches, parents and girls, this sport is off the radar. I would argue that after a few days it's even off of the girls radar.

Surf Cup was the road to a bucketful of contacts and offers for our boys team. Best bang for the buck, proved in our experience. Several more kids still could get offers if they stop being flakey.

That's great! What age is your boy? Just wondering how early they start thinking about offers. Do the players contact coaches to check e watch them?

You have to be in the super group but if you are you'll get more exposure than you want.
