That is where RCF swoops in and makes a killing.

Yes hilarious Rose City Futsal is "training" so many DS for futsal. Why dont the USSDA clubs have ANYONE on staff already that are qualified to meet the USSDA criteria to provide adequate technical training??? How telling.

Why train to play futsal at all? Are we trying to develop futsal players or soccer players? Use futsal to work on touch in the winter but nothing more. Absolutely no good reason to be "trained to play futsal".

The post above shows the incompetence of people in this country. Anyone and everyone that knows the game knows that futsal teaches the game tenfold. Add a teacher and it's like pouring gas on a fire. Kids should play futsal once a week. There should be futsal courts all over the place for pickup games

I can answer that question for you. It's cheaper to hire it out than hire an employee for it. It's economics/ business management 101. Did you not take that class at your community college?

I don't have a DS in the DA, he is too young. But I do know the trainers at Rose City and they are very good

This post shows the incompetence of supposed "soccer experts" in this country. Hop on the latest bandwagon. What's next, playing lacrosse helps teach soccer skills? Must be a TA clown from the caves of Gresham. Sheesh...

Be respectful of others please. You disagree, fine. But leave your narrow minded biases out of it. Thank you.

Actually yes. Kids at a young age should cross train. Dude, you are a dinasaur. Have you been living under a rock?

Great complimentary sports to soccer are lacrosse, hoops, handball, martial arts, swimming and badminton.

                          Why play futsal?

                          http://www.futsal.com/index.php/usff...o-play-futsal-

Pretty self explanatory. If you agree otherwise you don't know the game and are outdated

Just to clarify a couple of pieces:

-U12 USDA mandates a winter futsal program.
-Rose City is hosting Portland's version.
-A couple of the USDA programs train there.
-FC/NEU's rents space but uses its own coaches.
-I believe BSC has subcontracted Rose City to do some of the training.

I love futsal and yes it is wonderful for touch, creativity, and with only 4 players (5 with a goalie) a ton of touches/no chance to hide . . . however, don't think there are any silver bullets to development. At some point (I don't know the age) futsal and outdoor are truly different specializations. Tactics are and even some of the techniques are different IMO.

How is this program going so far for everyone? Any idea if they will be opening it up to 05B next year?
