FAIRFIELD TO MAKE LEADERSHIP CHANGE FOR WOMEN’S SOCCER PROGRAM

FAIRFIELD – After leading the Fairfield women's soccer program this past year, head coach David Barrett will not return, Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann announced Wednesday, Nov. 14.

"The tireless work that Coach Barrett and his staff have put forth this past season to rebuild our women's soccer program cannot be overstated," said Schlickmann. "We all thank him for his dedicated contributions to Fairfield. Coach Barrett will always be a part of our Stags family and we wish him the very best in the next step of his journey."

Barrett's squad compiled an overall record of 7-9-2 this past season with a conference mark of 2-6-2. "While Barrett has done a fine job, we are looking for a little bit more" stated Schlickmann.

Schlickmann will lead a comprehensive national search to immediately identify a new head coach to lead the Stags women's soccer program.

And even spending the time to write it up. Likely the same loser with no life who just posted the “percentages” thread about HS vs Club.

Probably has a kid on the team who didn't get much PT. He just wishes the coach was gone.

Second part is that there is not a single school in the MAAC that only has a 6 scholarship equivalency. If a school isn’t fully funded, as most in the MAAC are not, they can stack money. Meaning academic and athletic. And the entire amount counts towards their equivalency. Unless the person is a very strong student. Either way, it doesn’t matter to the player where the money comes from. And most of the MAAC schools give out tons of academic aid. Iona comes to mind. So while they might only have 7-8 scholarships, when combined with academic money, they aren’t that far off of QU, FU and Monmouth scholarship wise.
Absolute smoke screen. All schools give academic grants and scholarships. Still does not account for disparity of some schools like Monmouth and Quinnipiac who fully funds their program and the 7-8 schools who fund at less then half their rate.

Respectfully, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Fully funded schools CANNOT stack money. Meaning they can’t combine academic and athletic. The entire amount is athletic up to 14 scholarships. Another school may only have 8 scholarships but when combined with academic money, gets them close to 14 scholarships. The difference in funding between schools is not what you’d think.

Your daughter and her friends all hate you because you leer at them when you think they aren’t looking.

Are you the same pervert that used to watch your daughter's CFC training sessions with binoculars and take pictures of her teammates with a telephoto lens? I heard about you.

You are 100 percent incorrect! NCAA Division I schools are allowed to "layer" money. They can combine Athletic aid with general Academic Grants that any student would get based on Merit. Schools can not layer Federal Financial Aid like Pell Grants with a athletic scholarships. You shouldn't post if you don't know what you are talking about...............

Follow up. You are correct in Head Counter Sports! Soccer is not a head counter sport. Head counter sports are Basketball, Volleyball, 1A Football.

Reading comprehension must not be your strong suit. The poster said that FULLY funded schools cannot later money. And they can’t. Schools that are NOT fully funded can layer money. Which was the whole point. Schools that are not fully funded can still get up near their NCAA equivalency. So when the earlier posted talked about QU receiving fat more funding than the other schools in its conference, it was not necessarily correct.
