[QUOTE=Unregistered;1850943]Ratings in America were high too for this game. Strike 3, you're out.[/QUOTE

Soccer is so popular, my bad. Despite the overwhelming popularity and umpteen million youth players, the USMNT doesn't do too well.

Popularity for rich white folks will plummet as soon as they find out the concussion problem is just as bad in soccer...

Are you somehow able to ascertain who has been watching Fox for COPA and ESPN for Euro 2016? How are you defining "Americans"?

Apology accepted. They made it to the Semis and lost to the no. 1 team in the world. If your standard is that the US must be competing for the no. 1 spot in the world in order to establish its "popularity," then you're right. Kinda a silly standard.

The USA needs to find players with the heart of the Icelanders.

Iceland has a population of less than 400k, while USA has a population of over 350 million.
ICeland is better than the US team and that is incredible considering the numbers.

So what is the state of US soccer? Has the DA worked? Do we have our best athletes playing soccer?

parents don't run soccer in Iceland. They have coaches that do that. Parents stay out of the way

Article actually says many of the coaches are parents...
