If you want factual information about corruption in AAU, I suggest you read Play Their Hearts Out, an excellent expose written by Pulitzer Prize winning author George Dohrman. It is shocking how corrupt it is. Coaches deliberately holding kids back a year in school so they can play "down," coaches steering players towards certain universities because a donor at the university made a five or six figure donation to the coach's AAU team - protect your keyboard because you will be spitting on it in shock and disgust.
Regarding ECNL teams playing in OYSA - with all due respect, they don't have to prove anything to you or anyone else. If you are curious about the level of play, you could attend one of their home games in Portland, or your kid could try out.
Forgot to add - Dohrman follows a Southern Cal AAU team from 5th grade through college. A few of the players he follows ended up at Oregon State which makes this an even more interesting read.
