They most definitely do. Last week when my son went they had several hundred kids. And they do tryouts every few months. Over 400 tried out for u17 this year for a 20 man roster.

This kid played CM Countryside last year he was moved to RB at Barca - my son says he had to compete against 2 other players one on U20USMNT team for minutes at that position. So be warned it is a dog fight there, they are 2 and 3 deep at each position, each team has MNT players, and they will pull players up from pre-academy to pressure starters even, as you said that is how it should be. Here is the roster at U19: http://grsa.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams...p?team=3951740

I think one was Portland Timbers ...very hard to make ... they did take one of IMGs Nathan onto team guys this year in that age group. Did he ever approach Chargers? I am guessing he preferred to stay at flames unless he could go to MLS da but I don't know. Would be not CS to see him play in college.

Yes but it's now called Barca Academy. When Real Salt Lake was using it as their youth academy itwas called Grande Sports. RSL built new complex in Utah and the facility struck new alliance with Barcelona.
