                  From the article
“It’s (4-4A) one of the most competitive, if not the most competitive, districts (in the state.),” Raimann said. “In the county alone, you have Creekside, Bartram and Nease and then you have Fleming Island. Oakleaf has come a long way.”

Fleming Island is the fourth seed. The Golden Eagles (10-6) have beaten Nease and Ponte Vedra.

Saint Johns Country Day has played both Bartram and Creekside but not Fleming, their neighbor rival, or Nease because it might disrupt a winning streak.

*St. Johns Country Day coach Mike Pickett has seen three of the top four teams in the district. The Spartans — ranked No. 1 in the U.S. by USAToday and Maxpreps.com and No. 2 by United Soccer Coaches — beat Creekside 3-1 last week and Bartram Trail 4-1 on Martin Luther King Day. They also handled Oakleaf in December. Pickett and the Spartans did not play Nease"

Well scholarships do wonderfully in attracting talent. My daughter was friends with a boy who attended SJCD only during football season. Go figure.

Guessing a number of them play on Florida Elites teams as well which works out nicely for them as well.

That being said, most would jump at the chance to send their kids to a good private school under the right financial situation.

The Girls DA around the corner from MP's school could allow an arrangement for a private school kid getting a scholarship to get a waiver to play high school soccer.
