It use to require a 60 vote which requires more bipartisan support, but not now. Every nominee for the last few decades has gotten some votes from the other party but this one likely never will. Even Gorsuch got a few Democratic votes and they should have still been furious over Merick Garland.

I also think SCOTUS should have term limits. That would greatly reduce the partisan tension with each nominee. The founding fathers never envisioned people working well into their 80s.

Agreed but he showed his true colors yesterday. That disqualified him for me. I don't want his mean spirited, spoiled, entitled self on the bench. He likes beer a little too much too.

I totally agree. Can he be representative of America when making the highest decisions for America?

          3) GOP votes him in, feeling the full wrath of voters in November. and nailing the GOP coffin shut. 90% odds
Another FBI investigation for possible acts as a teenager over 35 years ago? Seriously? Does anyone live in reality? Who are they going to interview? What records are they going to review? Absolutely ridiculous.

He already does. He is a federal judge in DC. The last court before the Supreme Court. Where was all of this outrage at his first appointment? Standards are the same.

Flake will vote to confirm Kavanaugh. What a flake. Democrats and Republican voters want a Supreme Court Justice with the highest integrity, it isn’t even about the sexual assault he said/she said but more about the process that every nominee should be vetted by the FBI to the fullest extent.

But the Founding Fathers were correct in their characterization of the "people." Stupid and uneducated. Term limits for SCOTUS. Geez. Do you understand how the continuity of our law system works? I guess you want total chaos every 8 years? Congress is a perfect example of that. Always scrambling, never working.

The American Bar Assoc recommends waiting on the vote and investigating further. Even after investigating Kavanaugh he could still be confirmed but at least there would be full vetting and consideration. Because of the rush to vote this will divide America.

6 FBI investigations to date, plus the Senate committee, and the rabid media (which found nothing) but we need just one more?

Yes it all must be investigated. That is what Justice is. This Senate Judicial Committee is a farce because it can not act with integrity and fairness.

6 investigations by the FBI, 13 years on the bench, plus no evidence of anything other than one person's recollection from 35 years ago. Yep, total farce.

And thank goodness the Democrats that stormed out were lucky enough to walk right into a room full of media waiting for a press conference. What are the chances of that?

Other witnesses have come forward with sexual assault information. The Judicial committee will not hear from them or Mark Judge under oath. You would think even Kavanaugh would want a FBI investigation for his fairness. This Judicial Committee is just an extension of Trump and it is a sad day in history.

You forgot to mention that when those witnesses were approached to testify, they all refused. Very easy to slander someone with no consequences. Not so easy when under the threat of perjury and lying to Congress (both felonies).

None of the new witnesses have testified in front of the committee or the FBI - lying to either ins punishable with prison time - just made statements to attorneys. So yes, we do need one more.

His prep school Jesuits want him to be pulled. Yup, anti abortion Catholics want him out for the sake of the country. True Christians make sacrifices. Well, that and they know there's other pro life judges out there without nearly as many skeletons in their closets. https://www.ajc.com/news/magazine-je...bBeW76VtFWkvO/

Kavanaugh's response to Durbin questioning him on an investigation said it all. He's hiding a great deal AND lying about it. He knows it. The GOP knows it.
