Might want to check your source there partner. There's only 38,837 total females playing all levels of college soccer. Of those another 3.6% are international players (leaving 37,439 US players). According to you 49.9% of all college players are freshmen from USYS? And the others from USCS?

Once you understand that the 'league' you come from is meaningless, it follows so are any associated numbers or data carelessly attached for your prescribed narrative. Search the 'authentic real' internet for anything that can give your ignorance and pocketbook a voice in your race to nowhere. Keep shouting and arguing, as you burn your cash. It's about the journey, right?

Are you sure you want to talk about relevance?
What's so poignant about your post is it mirrors the outcomes (Pre-ECNL & DA) for FC, LOSC, SSC & THUSC at Region 4 championship competition. Nothing has changed.

Oregon still has no chance of being relevant in it's perpetual diluted state now with useless acronyms attached for ?

So stop diluting it. All the players should go to one club.

If there is one club worth going to then most of the top players would go to that club.

That is not the case in Oregon. What is the point of going to one club.

Except that you took out the top clubs from other regions as well and Oregon still does not make it out of group play.

You are right, nothing has changed. The top players still go to the same clubs in Oregon. The only noticeable change is SSC. They are worse now.

To not be crap? Maybe beat some CA teams so that we don't look like a backwater?

SSC is dead. Was very surprised they even operated this year. You know it is bad when the president sends out an email stating that contrary to reports, the club is still alive.

Hello Southside Soccer / Tigard Youth Soccer Members,

You may be hearing rumors about the current status and future of our soccer club. *It’s come to my attention that word is spreading in the community that our days are numbered, or that we’ve already shut our doors. *Rest assured, not only are we alive and well, but I wanted to share some of the exciting things happening at SSC.

First, congratulations and a heartfelt thank you to all of the players, coaches and families who participated in the 2016-2017 competitive season. *We had a very fun and rewarding campaign across all teams and age groups, capped off last weekend with a State Cup Semi-final appearance by our U13 Girls, a State Cup Quarter-final appearance by our U15 Boys and a President’s Cup Final appearance by our U14 Boys team. Great job to everyone involved!

Looking ahead, we are in the midst of pre-tryout clinics for the upcoming 2017-2018 competitive season, with tryouts beginning next week. *Based on early registration numbers, we expect to field more teams this coming year than we had last season, including our first-ever U16 and U17 teams. *Please spread the word, and visit www.southsidesoccer.org/competitve to register for tryouts. *

In other news, registration is open for Tigard Youth Soccer, our flagship recreational soccer program. *For over twenty years, TYS has been the cornerstone activity on Saturdays in the Fall for kids growing up in Tigard. *Last year we had over 1200 players don the green and black Tigard uniforms, and we expect even greater numbers this coming season. *We also have two recreational summer camp sessions available in July, for kids entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. *And for those players looking to make the jump from recreational to competitive soccer, the summer season of our Player Development Academy (PDA) begins Wednesday May 17th. *You can learn more about these programs, and register for all of them by visiting www.southsidesoccer.org.

Finally, I’d like to congratulate Fredy Sotelo on his promotion to Director of Coaching for Southside Soccer Club. *Fredy has been with SSC for many years as our Club Administrator and Registrar while also acting as Technical Director for our Boys competitive program. *In his new role, he’ll be responsible for all aspects of club coaching as well as team and player development for both boys and girls. *To allow Fredy time to focus on his new, expanded role, I’d also like to announce the hiring of John Hanna as our new Club Administrator. *John has over thirty years experience in the local soccer community as a coach, referee and club manager, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to Southside Soccer Club. *Congratulations to Fredy and John on your new roles!

Thanks for taking the time to read about the exciting youth soccer opportunities made available through the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, staff members and especially you, the members of our community. *We couldn’t do it without you. *Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, comments or ideas you may have regarding Southside Soccer Club and our mission to foster community-wide support for youth soccer. *

                    *

                    Warm Regards,

                    *

                    Jeff Brown

                    President

You will still be crap because the coaching sucks. Oregon coaches have already proven they can't develop the talent that they do have. With one club it will be worse because the coaches will do even less because there is no competition for the top players.

If there was a "best in class" club at Oregon, most of the top players would go to this club.

You were given $10K and have done a poor job of investing the money.

Why would anyone give you $100K?

If you did a great job with what you were given, the money will find you.

This.might be true if the customers knew anything. Oregon parents, though, are among the most uneducated of all consumers. Not their fault - most of it is cultural - but they're the ones doing the most damage.

So is there one product that all of these Oregon consumers should be going to?

Not sure what you mean by it is not fault-most of it is cultural.

Of course it is not their fault. Parents should not be running a club. It is the club's problem if they are letting parents interfere. The damage in Oregon is due to club leadership. Is there a single club with strong leadership and interested in developing players? Not sure how you can point to the parents causing the damage. If a club is strong they should be able to stand on their own.

Yes parents are clueless and partly at fault for interfering, moving their kids from club to club etc. In fairness to them most don't know good coaching from bad. Add to that too many leagues and pathways and nonsense at the organizational level it's hard for people to even figure out sometimes. Also, some clubs just suck, have crap coaching and sell parents a bill of goods. Clubs and leagues are more at fault for this mess than the parents for the mess this has devolved into. Everyone wants a piece of the pie

Amazing perspective and not a surprising post from a coach. Most coaches aren't very bright. And their compensation reflects their contributions - which is similar to a landscaper once you add up all the hours.
