A year and a half ago when FC Portland ECNL 2001 was in OYSA they finished mid-pack, either third or fourth place. That was neat. Probably would be top five in OYSA premier this year.

They have struggled but why bring it up. You know there are parents on here that were directly related to that team so why antagonize them?

West Linn > Sunset, now that Onyx players have graduated looks they are average at best.

Struggled when? Haven't lost to an Oregon team in 3 years, and only lost about 5 games total in the 3 years before that. Really too bad that Salem, Eastside, WashT, WUSC, THUSC, etc. have all pretty much folded up the tents while FCP still keeps going strong. Must suck to be a Timbers lemming caveman right about now (although I'm sure it's sucked for several years).

If all your left with is being a bottom feeder team in a league you don't belong in, that pretty well sums it up. (FC & CU). BTW, you get to pay 10K for your pain and embarrassment annually.

Congrats, this has nothing to do with OYSA league, DA league, NWSL Thorns Academy, USYS leagues it has to do with nimrod leadership at those clubs that have failed to develop/recruit quality players to the local club that can even compete in this now watered down league. End of Story. Whatever college choices the girls make, would be available regardless if they opted to play US CLub, USDA or USYS. There is no interest generated by colleges in these kids due to a league choice. Coaches don't recruit a league, they recruit a student athlete.

Hundreds of girls from Oregon move on to play in college each year. Same ole, Same ole.

You sound angry. Maybe you should contact those clubs and tell them how angry you are and how they have negatively affected you.

Sunset is ok this year and with Ben coaching will be so so at best. They will make the playoffs solely because most high shools are worse. Jesuit will easily run the table and should be favorites to win state.
