ECNL will be the top level for girls who choose to play high school soccer. There will be plenty of good players who go this route. Clubs with GDAP and ECNL will offer the choice.

Can already tell GDAP will be just as "watered down" as ECNL. Only way to avoid that would be to limit a league to 12-16 or at most 24 teams nationally. Wonder how the superfan is going to spin this one.

Totally agree. They're already over 50 clubs with more to come. It will probably end up being the same size as ECNL, with many of the same ECNL clubs. Remind me again why we're doing this? Oh yeah - to fix the national team :)

Several of the very weak ECNL clubs are getting into the girls DA. East Meadow, World Class, Charlotte, West florida and Boca Utd and San Juan. IMG and Shattuck teams are not competitive at all in a national landscape. Lamoranda, Beach FC and Clay County are not top clubs at all. East side FC in Washington will struggle as well. 3 teams in Seattle is really going to dilute things.

At least Fred is excluded. Already better than ECNL.

And that's what your pandering about leagues and real excellence was really all about all along, right, BTNT?

                    Yup

But don't worry, all of the gum flappers on this site have assured us that travel costs will be cheaper than ECNL

They're not done yet. They will still fill holes in the NE, TX and midwest. Other parts are in ok shape. But yea, this is ECNL 2.0

Looks like Fred will have to rely on his outgoing personality, boyish good looks and bottomless charm!
