Thank you. Totally agree. It was disgustingly hot all 3 days and these kids went out there and gave it everything they had. They deserve a congratulations and not to be dismissed because they were playing on a town team and not a $$$$$$$ club team.

Good job to everyone there much harder road than club.
Locked in rosters, no player or club passes.
Club Means nothing every kid there could be on a club team. All it takes is cash.

I congratulate every kid for playing the game, no matter the level they are at. No need to slam town leagues if you play club, there's many reasons why. No need to slam a player who plays club, either.

        Just enjoy the beautiful game.

I think it is great that kids from town come together to play something like MTOC. Assuming they go on to play for their HS (as opposed to going to priv school) then this kids will be playing together soon enough. Probably a great idea to get them used to playing with each other.

Your high school comment is 100% correct.

u16 Boys MTOC champ: Easton (Oliver Ames, 2015 MIAA Division 2 State title)
u18 Boys MTOC champ: Topsfield (Masco, 2015 MIAA Division 2 State runner-ups)

The best kids on those high school teams are most likely playing club. No dual rostering after U14.

Those age groups are not very good at MTOC. A better way to look at it is to look at who had success at U14 MTOC in 2013 and those high schools will be strong this fall

You are not extremely in the loop. And it's clear you weren't in Lancaster last weekend.

MA Youth soccer changed rules to allow dual rostering at all age groups. These age groups were good at MTOC this year, especially when you hit semis and finals due to participation of club players.

If you are a top club player, you are not playing for your town team

Who cares? I mean, I get everyone has the overwhelming need to be right all the time, but sheesh...let it go.

The kids are playing the game, that's all that matters.

Wrong. Some kids still enjoy playing with their friends and love playing wherever they can.

Good job trying your best kids. We don't expect this of you everyday, but at MTOC you must. Kids shouldn't be congratulated for giving it everything they have. That should be the expectation of parents and coaches. The problem with America is whiny kids who look for excuses and parents who enable them. Make America Great Again.

You are going to tell me there were no nutjob parents or coaches at this?

Relax. Rest assured that nobody was handing out participation trophies in Lancaster.

#1- teams had to win their regular season league and league playoffs to get there.
#2- competition was mostly even as teams had to qualify to make it to the tournament.
#3- teams that kept winning played at least 5 games during heat wave.

The guy you just attacked explained that his team put in great effort and WON the tournament. So his team most certainly deserves to be congratulated...even by a Great American such as yourself.
