No response on the 30 league titles or 8 state titles?? And keep in mind he pushed to play in D1 until recently even though they could have played down.

Why was Winchester one of the first areas to be involved with club in MA? Strong town program that Scanlon was part of for 26 years.

Add to the fact that it has not always been .500 winning percentage to get into the tourney. in the 70's, 80's and early 90's it was a .590 winning percentage. It is just recently Winchester hasn't been at or near the top.

Be careful who you call a legend. You don't get fired for no reason? Been around 38 years, AD is allowed to remove him with zero backlash from the principal and school committee members.

Really the school doesn't care either. As long as kids are playing, there's little controversy, team does ok, it's all good. As someone said school sports have completely different goals and objectives. Coaches with mediocre records finally are ousted when parents push for it, usually club parents

New coach should practice PK's. They have been knocked out of the tourney 3 of the last five years on shootouts

Chris Scanlon was a passionate and knowledgeable coach who put 100% into it. He was intense and a yeller which I am sure doesn't go over anymore in tony/PC town like Winchester. Trail brazer for sure in girls soccer. Coaches in HS more and more have to the deportment of teacher than an old school coach. Too bad he had to go out this way; he deserved better.
