And harvard coach started at NEFC and continued yo coach there even while at BC.
I coached so I know them and their backgrounds. And it isn't unusual. VanDyke coached club too before coming to Penn.
You realize some club coaches also are college coaches too, right?
Penn will care about image with this hire as they did with NVD. It will be a woman, and she will come from an academic elite or a member of the current staff.

Many of these coaches had to coach club to earn extra money, as well as help their program with recruiting. Depending on the college, an asst. coach makes 24,000 to 40,000 a year, and most head coaches don't even make it to six figures. Camps no longer make the money they one did back in the 90's and early 2000's, and ID clinics are not big money like camps used to be, so coaching club is something many college coaches had to do.

Remember UofP bball program was caught up in the money for a spot thing. They may go with an asst as they have been vetted already but not from academic elites though. May be good enough for asst but not HC.

My point was that JUST being a club coach isn't enough experience. Coaches need college experience and if BB (or whoever) doesn't have college experience, you ain't getting the job.
Of course many started with and maintained club spots.

BB however does have experience with Lori Laughlin like behavior - as he and another parent picked the entire team BEFORE tryouts took place and then conned the club and head coach into taking them all, leaving out many more qualified players - sound familiar?
I think the reference to him coaching at Penn was a joke.

And the FC Bucks club coach asst at Princeton who was an ECNL coach first is having good success. Maybe he will apply for the Penn job.

Try an on line english class with a local community college instead of trashing a club.
