If not ask yourself WHY are you spending that money? Otherwise go to GINGA, SOUTHEAST, SPORTING or RUSH. Same soccer, perhaps less stress and more "team" achievement. Those families/players who are playing for those clubs at EDP level are realistic about the school/soccer/social balance (factoring in playing talent to play next level college team or club) as you describe in in some instances also get recruited to same schools as ECNL and DA players.
I think many here look past the competitive nature of some players. They may not have a plan that includes college ball, or has it on a lower priority, yet their makeup as a person drives them to seek out and play at the highest level they feel competitive. Some simply play in the ECNL and DA because they can.

Not really. The cost and time involved make it much harder to justify if you're not planning on college soccer. If a club's commit lists aren't full it's much more likely a player couldn't get recruited or land a spot that met all their criteria vs players who were just "playing because they can."

How do you know? The OP said “some” and I would completely agree with that opinion. The cost and time involved is actually all completely relative. You may not be able to “justify it”, but another may easily do so. Not every “higher level” kid wants to play college ball, despite what some may believe.

this is a double edged sword

some don't play college because they are burnt out from the grind of playing at a high level for years already- the idea of doing for 4 more years just isn't appealing to some

Is this FSAs excuse for their thin commitment lists? Or, if it's burnout, FSA has more burnout than CFC or other ECNL clubs?

CFC definitely does better than FSA with college placement. FSA is a lazy organization that doesn't really help players find placement or navigate the recruitment process. It's better now that coaches like CC have been let go, but they really need to shake things up if they want a stronger commitment list (and they might not want that, because it's more work and the money is rolling in anyway).

CFC does not do anything more than FSA coaches do to assist in recruiting. CFC just has the benefit of hyper competitive parents in Fairfield County with money to spend on private trainers, tutors, ID clinics and ECNL costs. My daughter came through CFC and is playing D1 soccer and the club did nothing to assist in getting her committed to a school. She made the phone calls to coaches, emailed her videos and followed up after showcase events. It is a myth that CFC coaches and ownership assist with getting girls D1 placements

Your D did a normal amount of work. Clubs don't do the work for you.

I call BS on the CFC coaches not helping ur D. They have always worked with every team as a group and met individually with every family.

i call BS on your BS - half of them have no business calling themselves coaches and almost everyone in the other half can care less. they don't even update their coaches bio page on their website...they just don't care

Then your kid wasn’t on United and TP contacted coaches. My daughters main coach also told her to contact x, y and z school. CFC has little pipelines to get you the look and your kid needs to perform at showcases. BUT the coaches gave leads to connections.
