On this board and elsewhere there is a lot of debate on ECNL versus DA, and whether girls need to be in the DA to get invited to USNT camps. Here is what I found:

      1) All girls selected are playing in either the DA or ECNL. No other leagues represented.
      2) 41 girls, or 70% were selected from DA, and 18 girls, or 30% from the ECNL.
      3) 23 states are represented, with 19 players coming from CA.
      4) In the Northeast, PDA sent 3, FC Stars 1 from the ECNL.
      5) In the Northeast, STA, Cedar Stars, NEFC and Oakwood each sent 1 each from the DA.
No surprise there. And the giant thud you hear is the US Staff crashing to the ground in a heap by trying to win with inferior talent. This is a recipe for disaster. But I guess they’re going to ride that DA into the ground.

CFC, OW, and NYSC... seems like LK wasn’t happy anywhere. Assume she’ll jump ship again, might not be anywhere left for fee to go

She went down to NYSC to ride the coat tails of JS who is on the U17 WNT. When she doesn’t make the next invite her parents will pack up and move her again.

That's a story that plays out often. Plenty of one and dones, maybe 2 invites and nothing else. NYSC isn't a producer of top talent.

some clubs have the pipeline to the camps- CFC and OW to a lesser extent in ct
and they get their top kids in- staying is much harder than the invite
but at least they got the chance to dance
got to be in it to win it

ahh the disillusioned parents in CT. We have one such fella on my kid's team that came to OW because he thinks she's going to the national team. Huh? The kid is about three feet tall and not very quick. People are a bit nuts

The clubs are happy to take advantage of as many as they can find.

the "ride the coat tails" comment is pure ignorance. Why some feel the need to attack one kid to promote another is beyond me.

                              Generally, it's due to insecurity.

Two ways to make you (or your kid) look good.

                              1) Be good

                              2) Make the other one look worse

Because this site is filled with parents who never played a sport, whose kid rides the bench, barely plays or only plays because mom and dad kisses the coaches arse.
