He had to have a 4/5 year contract and for letting him go they will need to pay this out. He didn’t resign.

That is pennies compared to the money they would have to pay for tarnishing his image if he sues and wins.

You would think that they have a settlement agreement and nobody will be talking about this anymore

          Yale

There will definitely be a clause in his contract about improper behavior. So I assume it will be a battle whether Yale has to pay him or not. They will likely settle somewhere in the middle.

Yes. And quietly. And quickly. Long battle is not wanted by either side.

The issue was 10 years ago at UNH not at Yale. They fired him without doing their own investigation. No win situation but not a good look for Yale and the new AD

He drank with players he coached, groped them, and had a relationship with one. At least as a start. Read please. What he did is unethical, unprofessional, predatorial. He is done.

Supposedly... let’s cut the guy a break, he’s been convicted of nothing. He’s been accused through a student newspaper no less. You don’t know what happened, you’re simply believing one side before understanding all of the facts or hearing both sides because you want to. Typical.

They made a calculation of the risks of a lot of headaches from students, alumni and the press vs the chances he is innocent and everyone believes he's innocent. Personally my preference would be they do their own investigation (put him on leave) but I also see why they did it. They also may have other info we don't

This is not going to end well for Yale, UNH, UMass or the coach.

Mass: coach dates a player is sleazy but not a big deal- as long as the relationship started after she graduated. Before not cool.

UNH: If it was never reported until now what could they have done? If the school knew and quietly let him go then they are culpable

Yale: they tossed him very quickly. If it wasn't true and they didn't investigate it they will look bad.

Very true, anyone remember the Duke Lacrosse players who gang raped a stripper? Turns out it never actually happened, although the American public vilified those innocent individuals. Trial by news media.

Chances are something happened at SBU and UW

Unfortunately it happens far too often now, especially if it's a case that won't involve legal charges. Once you're branded that in the media, it may never go away. Would as many people have believed the women about Cosby if he hadn't been found guilty in a court of law? In the heat of all the MeToo stories little old George Takei was accused of something which was later proven to be BS. But it was the initial headline that made the news, not his being later vindicated. Yale better hope it's true because it seems like they put no effort into investigating it.

He must of admitted to something for Yale to just let him go. Yale can’t be this dumb. They can lose millions if this in not true.
