Staples take sit this year. We are stacked. Have superior talent and leadership and our girls train year round. Two of the top players in the state
Staples want to come out and play? Warriors

You do realize who the opponent was that Glastonbury gave up their state title to that year right? If not, just go back and look it up and I think it speaks for itself why the outcome is significant enough to remember. The actual date sure, maybe only I remember but that isn't the point.

im not so sure you are down for that
One true champion in each of the four classes. Simple. Should be four state champions at a maximum, not a minimum, unless you want to add a fifth division. No need for the champs of the four different classes to play each other.

LL should play S and then L plays M. Then the winners play!

That’s what there is currently unless a tie then co champs
So what are you talking about
So there are 4 state champions- not just LL and 3 lesser champs
4 state champions- if you want to get to 1 just have the champions play each other

That fails to serve the academic purposes of high school sports.

They don't have the D1, D2, D3, NAIA national champions play each other in college for the same reason.

You cannot compare high school soccer classes with college D1, D2, D3 etc. The different divisions in college represent the number of college sport scholarships available to award (hence the ability to recruit the most talented players) providing a huge advantage to D1 teams. High school soccer classes is defined by the size of its schools.

There should be one state champion and not 4 or more champions (ties) as is the case now. Additionally the schools that can recruit (St. joes, NWC, Holy Cross, immaculate, etc) should compete in their own division or play with the private schools since they are private.

                      Let’s play this out then

                      Guilford 0
                      Granby 2

                      Glastonbury 3
                      Holy Cross 0

                      Finals
                      Glastonbury 1
                      Granby 2

Granby state champions and remain the only undefeated team in the state.

Stop crying about the private schools. Good lord. Just play the games. Just because they can draw from other towns, doesn’t mean they’ll draw good players. Nor does it mean everyone can afford it. There are positives and negatives to public and private schools. The arguments are silly.

Silly because it's just not going away, and often times just not relevant. Plenty of those schools just aren't good and are knocked out early on. Most times the public schools dominate

I think I saw something over the weekend that stated out of the 16 state championships up for grabs this weekend, only 1 Catholic school snagged a title.

For many years, Indiana and Kentucky played their class champions in several sports against each other to get to a single champion. But they tossed that out a couple of decades ago too. We all love "Hoosiers". But that story happens like once every 50 years or so. They are kids, let them enjoy their high school titles. I suspect you care more about it than the kids who play do.
