I never would have attended my Alma Mater if it wasn’t fully paid for, but instead some measly combo of athletic scholarship, aid and loans.

Too expensive.

My Alma Mater is a very good school. Not Ivy League level, but still very good.

If you don’t have a scholarship in men’s football or basketball, then your scholarship is a joke.

If you don’t have a scholarship in women’s basketball, volleyball, gymnastics or tennis, then your scholarship is a joke.

That’s the truth from the fieldhouse.

All of the non full ride sports athletes were jealous of us.

Can’t blame them.

They knew that their scholarship was a joke too and what they were told their whole lives was BS.

If your high level player even makes it to college to play soccer, they’ll learn that truth too. It’s why so many of them quit. At my Alma Mater they don’t have men’s soccer. Not a lot of schools do.

My Alma Mater had intramural soccer, like most colleges do for men. Percentage wise that’s where your son has the greatest possibility to play.

As far as women, soccer players were not highly valued at Frat Parties with the Soroties in attendance unless they were a part of the Fraternity’s intramural squad.

For some reason they really wanted the football players and basketball players to attend. Weird, huh?

Men’s soccer in America compared to other nations is the equivalent of what watching the Rays or Marlins compete this year in MLB is going to be. Atrocious.

The only difference is that everybody, including those in the clubs, know that the Rays and Marlins are tanking.

US Men’s soccer doesn’t, even as they will be watching the World Cup from the comfort of their own homes. Men’s soccer is irrelevant in America.

Have to agree ,Soccer in the US is Atrocious and won't change until they have Coaches that have a idea of what to look for.As of now they get a hard on for tall kids at 12 yrs of age.
