Again CA dominating the US National rosters. You are telling me, we don't have a girl in the state of FL that can make this roster? So much for the people running their mouth about DA is the highest level of competition. This is disappointing!

Here is the problem with Florida girl's soccer players...

The south Florida girls just dribble all over the field until an opponent steals the ball away then they yell at their teammates. Passing never crosses their minds.

The west Florida girls just foul, foul, foul and because of this rough play and they get taken out of the games. Too much American football in those west coast footballers!

The northern Florida girls just run and run all over the field, but not really doing anything! But they just know to run and run and chase the ball! Track stars!

Then you have the central Florida girls. They don't run enough! They stop with hands on knees a lot. They pass to the other team a lot due to problem one. They have Disney on their minds!

They had national team camps throughout the year. Coaches recommend kids to these camps. They had one in south Florida during November. But the kids there , were recommended by the coaches, not actually picked by us soccer scouts. This roster will completely change after the showcases where the coach has less input in pushing his kid or a BOD kid to the camp.

She’s in the process of getting her dual citizenship for the US so she can’t be on the US team right now until it’s done.

Don’t know the girl wish her the best of luck....

However, the goalie position , if not the toughest, the toughest to get noticed. At this level most of the girls are pretty amazing, why is the Florida girl being talked about on here so much? is she that much better.?

this roster is skewed, the girls picked were promoted by their coaches and looked at during the national camps, some coaches will not promote a girl if they dont interact or have a non friendly relationship with the parents, and of course they will promote their own kids.

the u14s haven't even participated in showcases.

US Soccer set up the GDA system to avoid these biases, it will work itself out and hopefully a Florida girl is good enough to get a shot.

I think this is cute but completely false. Why/how would a geographic region in a state as large as Florida adopt a "style of play" so that teams from different clubs/leagues/age groups all play similarly. My daughter is with a club in Southwest Florida - the region that you claim "... just foul, foul, foul ...." Whenever they come up against a team from South Florida our parents, players and coaches are stunned at the level of blatant fouls committed by the South Florida teams (just watch any Sunrise Sting game).

Unfortunately, I think the four different styles of play you describe could be found on any team, from any club and any age group - the styles aren't tied to regions.

How exactly does what happened prove that statement wrong? It is all relative. The highest level of competition in Florida might not be as high as it is in California or Texas.

For example, if I said that all the best players in the NBA were in the Western Conference does that suddenly mean that you can't say that those teams in the Eastern Conference are playing at the highest level of basketball? If almost all the top NFL draft choices and highly regarded players were from the SEC does that automatically mean that somehow the Pac-12, one of the Big 5 conferences, isn't the highest level of college football on the West Coast?

The amount of ridiculous statements and assumptions on this board is truly mind boggling.

The is fact that most USMNT & USWMT in the younger ages are dominated by the state of CA and other states. Rarely do you see a FL player on those rosters. So why is that? and yes the PC 12 doesn't play the level of football as the SEC & Big Ten.
