FYSA could have done 2 things. First, not put teams in brackets of 3. With games being played over 2 weekends, and secondly they could have also had teams play across brackets to satisfy a 3rd match.
Teams were already traveling out of their region during these rounds and playing, so it shouldn't be a big deal. I understand why it is PPG, but the FYSA reasoning on it is not right. Perhaps those teams in a bracket of 3 draw or lose a 3rd game, they would not place at that time. So in one hand they could have won, or they could have lost. Essentially the 3 team brackets have an advantage by not playing a 4th game. Win one and you are through 3/2 equals 1.5, 4/3 equals 1.3.
My child plays on a central florida team that was bumped. Not too upset, as they would have lost in the next round anyways.

Perhaps... But, once the Group of 16 was selected, those teams only playing two games instead of the three, had less games to accumulate points for bracket placement. Isn't this the case?

Again my daughters team was bumped. They would have lost in the Round of 16 anyways. Top teama in the group are probably FKK and Sunrise. Though I havent seen any of the TBU teams to be fair. (Not trying to debate who is best at the age of 11 anyways)

There is failure to See the appropriate argument here which is FYSA did not honor there own rules.
NO WHERE does it say that it would be PPG. No where is it stated.
Therefore there is a discrepancy and the benefactors are 2 teams with minimum points

You cant screw over 2 legitimate teams (Oldsmar and Space Coast) to protect the daughter of an FYSA official !!
Its just so wrong on so many levels !!
1 you are wrong about the why. FYSA is implementing the "right" rules but is guilty of posting the wrong ones. It's a lack of foresight not some stupid conspiracy to get a kids ****ty team on to the next round of state cup so they can get knocked out next week. Oldsmar and SC have legitimate gripes here. FYSA messed up it's rules and should address it.
2 whatever the end goal here is, screaming corruption when it's not the case is detrimental to getting to wherever you want to go. No one wants to help an ignorant whiner.
There's legitimate appeal grounds. Go through the process.

Honestly, many of us were confused by how this would play out BEFORE the games began. Ultimately, there is no other way for this to have worked out fairly than to use PPG. And even with that, teams who only played two games still were cheated out of points for placement in Group of 16. I think you have a point that this wasn't really fair to anyone. That being said, FYSA handled it the best they could. If anything, we should request that in future years, they balance all brackets, or accept a balanced amount of teams based on who gets their application in.
We finished first in our three team bracket so this didn't apply to us. We paid the $700 and only got two games. I would have rather had our girls get the full three games in.
We all were shorted...

Same thing if I walk in to a grocery store and an item is marked at 1 price but listed "incorrectly" in the weekly flyer, (at a lower cost). Guess which price is the one they have to honor.
Yes we all know that FYSA screwed up and no one is surprised by it. However they should honor what was posted not what they "intended" to post. That they should do next year.

Good luck dealing with the FYSA. Last year multiple teams in multiple age groups were incorrectly seeded in the state cup. The FYSA denied anything was wrong from the day after the draw until 4 days before the 2nd round! They then finally admitted the error but said it was too late to do anything about it. They promised to do better in the future but absolutely refused to make any public announcements about the errors as they were obviously afraid of the backlash.

What is really appaling is that a huge business like FYSA thinks it's ok to screw over those same 11 and 12 yr olds.
