    Budget for Travel Soccer U9-U11?

At the areas clubs in South Florida, after all the fees, leagues, tournaments, uniforms, coaches, hotels etc..etc. Is $7000 a good yearly budget?

Please share your experiences, good or bad. Love you all!

Now this is a good topic. Hoping to hear some feedback.

Depending on the level of play and how many tournaments the club enters I would say that is high, maybe $5,000.

You should reconsider you and/or your child's life priorities if you are spending this amount at u9-u11.

Is that for the entire team? If so that is fair. If that is per child you are being bamboozled

Well asking around to some travel parents (Weston, Miramar, WPU, Juventus), they seem to be paying 2500-3000 just in team fees that include uniforms..etc. Then there are tournaments, travel and hotel stay. So maybe $7000 is on the high scale if you include some extra expenses when you visit some of these places, but does $5000 seem to be more the range for the cost to play?

I'm trying to understand the worth in spending as much for young kids to play the game. Is that what everyone is spending?

$7000 seems on the high side. Would be good to go into more detail about your numbers.

Some clueless coaching dinosaurs do try to convince naive parents that kids get more development with untold number of hours sitting in a car while riding to far away places, and spending more than you need in hotels and COACH EXPENSES.

Some slick clubs try to force you on the EUROPE tournament, that will set you back at least 3k.

Spend the money on private trainings. Traveling far distances at such young age is a waste of money.

1800 for registration, 10 tournaments at 70 per, two travel tournament weekends at 600; uniforms 200; ref fees 100. That’s 4000 right there. If you do private training at 20 per session once a week your at 5k easy; if you do camps and summer sessions, 3v3 tournaments I could see 6-7k a year. It adds up fast.

my Club plays 15 tournaments a year, I thought 10 was low. We play 2 per month. We aren’t in any leagues so giving up 2 weekends a month seems normal. It would be boring if we didn’t play games. Maybe your kids enjoy lots of practice and no games but our kids are the opposite, they like the games and it’s what keeps them excited about soccer.

Thanks for the input. Having talked around more seems 5k is a budgetary number, or approx. 400 bucks per month.

                            Would need details.

Sounds high for that age, once you hit HS age you will cough up 7-10k on a good team if you are traveling to all the "important" places to be recruited.

We will hit around 10K this year with ALL expenses, travel, club fees, the extra you cough up for team budget, flights, hotels etc.

but we are a good team and will be doing disney, CASL, Jefferson cup and a few other tourneys.
