WESTWOOD, Mass. - The MIT Engineers and the WPI Engineers will meet in the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Championship game, after defeating the Springfield Pride and the Babson Beavers, respectively, in semifinal action. The title game will be played on Saturday, November 9th at 5:00 p.m., hosted by MIT.

      No. 1 MIT 3, No. 4 Springfield 0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 5 nationally-ranked and top-seeded MIT women's soccer team defeated fourth-seeded Springfield College, 3-0, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Tournament Semifinals on a rainy Thursday night in Cambridge. MIT improved to 14-11-9 all-time in the NEWMAC Tournament and to 4-2-3 against Springfield in league tournament contests. The Engineers have now won the last three playoff meetings between the two teams, all of which have come over the past three seasons.

      No. 3 WPI 4, No. 7 Babson 0

WORCESTER -- Ranya Basma (Shirley, MA) came off the bench to score the only goal of the first half, the Engineers added three more after intermission, and third-seeded WPI blanked seventh-seeded Babson in a NEWMAC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinal contest at a rainy Alumni Stadium on Thursday evening. With the win, WPI moves on to its second NEWMAC championship game in the last four years. The Engineers will head to top seed MIT, a 3-0 winner tonight in the other semifinal, for the title match at 5pm on Saturday.

Time to make a guess about NCAA appearances.

all 4 semi-finalists from NESCAC are in.Wesleyan has a slim chance to get a bid.

MIT is in, win or lose. WPI has a chance, even if it loses to MIT in the final.

no one else gets an at-large bid.

Any one see the disgraceful non-call on WPI's obvious and shameful handball that directly lead to the first goal?! Appalled at the lack of class from WPI and slightly less appalled by the terrible officiating!

Makes up for the horrible off side call which wiped out the Coast Guard goal and enabled Babson to advance.

That would be news to Amherst who beat Tufts soundly today.

Amherst completely exposed Tufts defense with several through balls.

Close, but no cigar. Neither WPI nor Wesleyan get a bid. All 4 NESCAC semi-finalists are in.
