    NPL Nationals

Aztec U18B is quietly putting together a run at a national championship in Colorado. They are currently 2-0 after beating Ironbound NJ and Chicago Magic. Next up they face Portland FC for a chance to move to the semi's. Western United is not doing so well at the U13-U14 boys age groups but they are up against clubs like New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas.

did you ever get the impression that no one really cares?? The NPL Championship, although competitive, does not hold a notoreity candle to USYS and Region 1, which are well established.

On the other side, few care about the USYS championships coming up this week, in part because it is played toward the end of the summer.....not too long before the next season starts.....and not too long after the cuts and changes in the team roster were completed. I did note that the USYS has included the teams playing in the National leagues that they sponsor in addition to the four regional winners. In 3 boys and 3 girls age groups there are two pools of teams.

Aztec 18s loss 2-1 in the semis to Michigan Wolves. A look at MA teams this year with strong runs.

      U18G Scorps Regional Finalist
      U18B Aztec National Semi-finalist
      U17G Aztec Regional Finalist
      U13G Stars Regional Finalist
U13G NEFC Regional Champs ( Nationals?)

What about NEFC 16 Region 1 champions and USYS regional semifinalists?
