You’d be surprised how many D1 commits come out of every club that they don’t get any money or #18-24 on the bench. Sometimes playing at specific clubs you get used to a half experience
This is true. Name me one really good D1 player that plays every game or got a lot of money from Oregon.
Those girls said no way to skipping high school. They missed out on two months of hard manual training and boring DA games thus are better soccer players now off at D1 schools.
Somehow this wonderful sentiment was not noted in the initiative efforts for year round recreational Girls HS soccer. Apologize.
The momentum continues to build for the year round Recreational HS platform!
As others have mentioned, HS Rocks! Especially for girls.
Only if you play for Jesuit University. Best of the rest could not score a single goal vs Jesuit.
This doesn't put a damper on the enthusiasm of the hundreds of Varsity, JV & JV II schools who are all-in for year round Recreational HS girls soccer. University of Jesuit isn't even a High School program, by name.
Glad you capped off the discussion with a serious outlier.

And not some sub level D1 school
Palmer at Oregon (former Onyx player) has played entire games from day one. Her money is her business. But she's been an important player for UO since her freshman year.

Her money (personal) is her business.
The amount of athletic aid awarded to all student athletes is public record for consumption since it's a State School. Just like coaches salaries are published by press after they make request for information to the state. https://www.bizjournals.com/portland...regons-25.html
Takes a little more effort to release the athletic award specific amounts for non head count sports like (Soccer). Unlike Football, Bball & Volleyball those are always full rides and you can figure that amount out without a request for information breakdown.
the first year the thorns were in gda league they allowed the jesuit girls to do both and the thorns had a good team. They stopped allowing high school and struggled.
Across the country the elite .01% are not interested in catering to some cockamamie scheme put together by consultants that makes them give up anything. They don't have to. Elite clubs are all getting that message loud and clear and moving back to ECNL, like Crossfire and SoCal clubs.

Good for them. GDA should consider making changes. They should throw support behind ECNL.
The boys thread says Timbers DA might be joining boys ecnl. Can’t get more supportive than that!
Ugh I wouldn't count that as an endorsement of the ECNL over all. The Timbers DA might join the ECNL as a place holder until they are of age and play in the national US DA the top league in the land as designated by the the governing body of US Soccer and MLS.
The real story is some local Seattle clubs who played in the local DA formed a league in the US Club ECNL and the Timbers may want to play in that. Once the boys hit U15 it is US DA
They should move the thorns into the ECNL league. They would get a lot better turn out I suspect.
Forget about playing the Oregon rec HS Card, the real draw is the Wins they would rack up in the US Club travel league. Come On! Thorns Do it! tell em you aint playing Oregon rec HS and would travel to the states like cali that don't play HS in the Fall. Win-Win Baby!

Nothing to do with girls GDA and ECNL.
Girls DA has nothing to do with the US Club (ecnl) other than accepting all their elite clubs in 2017 at formation.
