Be weary of any player who has as many clubs under their belt as years playing. That's a cancer, and you'd all be better off without.
You are wrong. So many of us parents are new to club with our first child. We end up in a club because our childs friends are in a club. We try it out, and then we realize holy moly that's a large roster very little playing time for any of the kids so we smarten up and start talking to other parents. Then we try a new team because our player is promised smaller roster but then the coach suddenly brings in a bunch of new players, or maybe your kid is the best on a weak team and suddenly is no longer challenged. Switch clubs again. This switching around seems to happen a lot at the smaller clubs because they don't have a higher team for your kid to join when they need more. If your kid is carrying the club team and it is a small club the only option is to then move up and have your kid play with older players and be small, or, switch clubs. The parent is not a cancer. The parents is navigating the small club scene with limited options. You can call it parent driven, sure, we are paying for it, but I mean really what's a parent to do in some of these situations. Better for the team to go if you or your kid is unhappy. We started off with a couple small clubs with little options. Now we are with a bigger club with many teams.

Stay away from a player and family like that. Creates nothing but problems.

Just a frustrated parent watching players come and go, and listening to parents whine from the sidelines far too often.

You would do well to read them once in a while--not tonight though- it's pub night with the mates.

I refuse to waste my hard earned money or my kids time on a club that doesn't fit them . If your player is the best player of their age group at your small club, and that small club doesn't give them opportunities for competition, you have to go. end of story.

Maybe have a parent meeting with the DOC to understand what is happening with your team. If there is a lot of player movement, then something is wrong. Perhaps it is a combination the coach, lack of player development, little to no open play/small sided games during practices, too large of a roster, wide range of talent and commitment on the roster, etc.

Sure....year after year after year. At some point, maybe it's not all the clubs that are the problem?

Clubs that participate in NEP agree that to switch clubs you must get "released" by the club you are leaving. Clubs will almost always give that release IF you are paid up in full for the year.

The destination club will often, if they are in need of your player, waive the cost for the spring season or at least greatly discount it. Maybe your player is helping fill out an undersized roster? Maybe they are a stud that will get the destination team to the state cup.

So in best case you just have to buy the new uniforms and you are good to go.

The large rosters serves no one better than the club. Seeing roster sizes approaching what colleges carry at U14 is nothing short of criminal. Talk about training all you want but if your kid isn't playing at these ages its not a good thing. There are exceptions to this but if your kid can't break into the starting line up or be a strong role player on a large roster team at the older ages they should find a more suitable alternative that they will be getting game time experience. They are just gravy for the club and the clubs love their gravy.

b.s. That defies logic and experience. How on earth could a club justify keeping a player who didn't want to be there? I haven't been in the club soccer world as long as some of you here but I have _never_ heard anyone even suggest that a NEP club would refuse a transfer if the bill was paid.

Now, it is very likely that the better players are less likely to want to switch. They get their choice of role, they get more playing time and likely get more attention from the club in general. So there are bound to be fewer examples of them switching.

Very little movement in the Epl transfer window this year.
Which is infinitely more important than some kids switching teams because they’re unhappy with playing time.
Maybe a loan program should be instituted?

A footnote maybe but I would give a pass to any kid/parent with a late-year birthday who knows their team won't really be playing the next year - by that I mean a kid who transfers during their 7th grade, when most of the team is in 8th grade and there will be no season in the fall because most of the team will be playing on a HS team.
