It’s that generally sandy, though sometimes rocky, section of land within 1/2 mile of saltwater that stretches along the entire east and west coast and from Fla-Tx.
    Hope this helps...

Who is committed to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton? Those are really the only schools that matter.

Men’s college soccer splits 9 total scholarships across rosters of 28-30. Most “schollies” will be for 10-15k in athletic money for boys. No one from seacoast is going for free.

                    $40k-$60k vs walk on? Hmmm.

When your average student with average SAT scores gets a golden ticket to BU, or Colgate, or Lehigh, or NEU, plus $60,000 that’s a very good thing. Too may parents focus on tuition reduction rather than starting salaries post graduation and future earning potential.

You left out the 4-8 international players most programs have now that get full or close to full rides. That leaves even less for the rest. If you get more than 10K you're doing well. You can get more in merit money with good grades and possibly FA depending on family income

But you're only getting in based on your own merit. Soccer had nothing to do with admittance. Yes the future is what matters - even recruited athletes need to get a job - but soccer didn't drive a walk-on's path to school

Everyone talks about 9 total scholarships (actually the number most people use is 9.9). Not all D1 schools get 9...some get as little as 3. This puts these schools at a significant disadvantage in recruiting the best players...none of the schools actually talk about out how few scholarships they have available because they don't want to scare away potential recruits.

We should end the entire recruiting process in men’s and women’s soccer, other than a conference of 10-12 schools. (I actually believe the entire college sports world should follow this design)
They can fight and offer money for the 240 kids, per gender (20 per school) in the country that can actually play the game.
Treat them like Kentucky basketball with its “one and done” pro pipeline...almost an academy-like set up.
The rest of the schools can focus on what is important and it sure as heck ain’t soccer.

And most of the stupid and ignorant back-biting that exists on this site will fade away.
And we can end the absolutely ridiculous discussion as to whether or not these college athletes should get paid.

You don’t get around much. Most African and South American students get 100% need based $$. Nice trick to keep your athletic $$ for the others.
