Scorpions ECNL (in Taunton) is your best bet if you have a strong player.
Been looking at Scorpions but not sure I want to go to practices that far and cross though Providence traffic. I am already North of Providence. Maybe head up 146 north see what's over there? As usual this means we have to leave the state for good soccer wither way we end up in MASS.

Bayside would be best candidate for an ECNL bid. New field gives them a lot of control. Great realtionship with PC helps expand field base. Just getting the bid would make players flock there and may spurn them building another field. You want to avoid going to MA, that would be a great option.

If this stuff with Surf continues, more players will flock to Scorpions and probably end up on ECNL Regional teams. Very expensive and a lot of travel to play 2nd level behind National!

I find this all so frustrating. Bayside is not in the ECNL so they shouldn't even say they might be, fake news. Scorpions is really the only club around that makes sense to parents who are looking for ECNL for their high school kid. SURF doesn't even offer DPL so thats pathetic. NEFC used to be the go to club for DA but they are the most confusing, it is like they took two giant steps backwards getting into bed with GPS and SURF. Now Liverpool is gaining momentum and they will likely get to ECNL before anyone from RI because they aren't getting into the drama, they keep their heads down, and focus on the Liverpool Way...which might be the right way. Who would of thunk it? And then.. there was Bruno, what happened there. Sad strange.

Okay I had to do a deep dive because hey I am out of work so I got curious, are any Liverpool teams in the ECNL? Well yes there is one out of TX on the boys side,( Liverpool Football Club International Academy Texas (LFCIA Texas) is one of the founding member clubs of the Boys ECNL) soooo okay then, maybe the RI Liverpool teams could go in that direction after all. The landscape of soccer in the Northeast is changing. Parents want what they pay for, more training, more competition, more opportunities and more development not more wins.

Why keep saying NEFC planned something with Surf??? NEFC Southeast coaches left the club and moved to Surf. The region still exists, hopefully will be able to rebuild since many players will follow their coaches to Surf. Everyone is always trying to bash each other. Every family needs to seek out what is best for their family. Every single club in all of New England unfortunately has some BS that you have to deal. All of youth soccer is loaded with inequities.

Everyone here pining for ECNL to come to RI on the girls side is delusional. Bayside has a 0% chance getting into ECNL. NEFC has a 0% chance. Those clubs aren't even an afterthought in the conversation. They are irrelevant to the brass at ECNL. Nobody outside of your tiny bubble cares about them. Any other clubs beyond those two are even less relevant and aren't even worth mentioning by name.

It is never coming to RI, at least not in the time frame that any kid from U6 or above will get to see. Maybe some new club will emerge before your unborn kid hits U18. But other than that if you have a truly elite player and want ECNL you will need to go to MA or CT. Otherwise find a club locally with a coach you like and forget ECNL.

Um clearly you don't live here in RI. Please go back to your CT or MA board. We don't need your negativity here.

Unfortunately for us RI'ders it's probably true what is being said. To have an ECNL club based in RI would mean coming up with yet ANOTHER team at every age group (ECNL is club-based) that could compete against the, say, top 5 teams in NE on a regular basis, and drawing from an area that's about 45 mins away from Taunton and a little further from Lancaster. And to muddy the waters further, you already have a couple ex-DA clubs not any further away who are waiting in line.

Probably right. Been thinking we have so much talent in this state. But they are all spread out across the state. all the clubs should band together and put together a tryout to select all of the players in RI at every age group. Take those teams and make a club of our RI Elite, truly Elite. Can't the club owners lay down their swords for the common good of the state soccer? We don't even need more than one club in this whole state. Build a big one with many teams at all levels and stop your fighting.

You want ECNL, drive to Taunton. Scorps is getting more and more competitive with the new owners.
