My D played for NYCFC and its true that the league was weak, the only time we had competition was at national tourneys, where we were mostly 1-1-1, or 1-2.

The rest of the country and ECNL leadership disagrees with your opinion with this conference getting allocated the most amount of playoff spots along with the southwest due to the strength of the conference...

      How do you explain that?

WC not gonna freak out and veto? They get some players from the region Albany Alleycats also are getting players from.

I heard it was NEFC. Stars protested, but you can not deny they are a good club and removing them from GA deflates that league

There is no way a team from Albany is getting in with all the other options out there.

It actually makes more sense for a club from Albany to join since it expands the geographic coverage.

There are no other teams for 2020-2021 at this point. The plan is for HS-age teams to play each team twice - home and away. Not sure what the plan is for the non-HS ages that play in the fall. Maybe they will play each other 3x or there will be some crossover games?

It would only make sense for Albany I guess, but if they actually want to expand each division to 10, too many other Clubs with better population density to field ECNL level teams to choose from.

You’d also need a 10th in the other conference. Who would that be?

If choices are available, would bet many players would rather play in new england league that is much stronger, but PDA may not allow it.

There were plenty of games scheduled the last 2 years where there wasn't a travel partner. It's not necessary and better to play each team twice. Right now, the NE was 14 division games across the year for HS ages. What good is it having 10 teams? 9 games is not enough for an entire year (late fall/spring).

With 9 teams, each home and away, that is 16 league games, plus any crossover games they might play as well as showcases. Plenty of games .... maybe too many in a short HS season unless they get 3 or 4 weekends in before winter (which they never seem to be able to do).
