So SURF is coming into town and what do they do for advertising? They send parents and coaches on TS boards such as MA and RI to start rumors and trash other clubs. Scorpions is the best club in the Northeast and has direct path to ECNL. They are respected. SURF smurfs need to stop attacking clubs.

Surf took scorpios best coach TM now they are taking all Scorpios best players and teams!

Those who stay at Scorpios, good luck with Mom & Pop coaches and angry Rugnetta. Losers.

Well, to be fair, Scorpions and Stars parents do the exact same thing to GDA/GA/GAL (and every other league) clubs.

Go away Surf. Your negative advertising campaign is worse than politicians.

Assume the same goes for NEFC and Stars?

Lol. How dumb does a family have to be to trade ECNL National for EDP? The only players leaving Scorpions for Surf were cut from their team by SSS GDA players coming in, or regional league players who finally realized they were never going to get promoted to national.

Agreed. Why would anyone go to Surf over Scorpions??? Bizarre. Scorpions ECNL. SURF a bunch of cowboys with no league. Teams built on fake promises. Unless you live in California you aren't really part of the true SURF. Silly surfer wannabees.

The only problem I have with them is it’s all about the ECNL. They don’t promote how good their Club/teams/players/coaches are all I see is ECNL, ECNL,ECNL. If your club is good then promote that. (ECNL Parent!)

Part of it is natural...everyone wants to be the best. The reality is not everyone can be, and those who are back a level still want to play and have fun. To many, those people aren't worth anyone's time.

Nope. Who does Porsche market to? Who does GM market to? Two completely different markets and different product lines. It really is that simple. Porsche doesn't market to middle class families but GM does. Doesn't make GM a bad company, just a different market segment.

Scorpions and Stars market and offer a product to the top players in MA to play in the most competitive girls leagues in the country with the best exposure to college coaches. That is there market and their sales proposition. If your player doesn't fit the profile of someone who is 1. athletic 2. a skilled soccer player 3. likely has a desire to play in college then Scorpions and Stars isn't for you. Plenty of other clubs play at lower levels for those players uninterested in college play or not at that level in athleticism and ability.

Other clubs play in other leagues. We can debate all day long which league is better, the reality is families have a clear winner on the girls side: ECNL. Everything else is below that. Doesn't stop a player from playing in college if they play in another league, it's just a different, possibly more difficult journey.

It's not crazy to say that DA failed in large part because they needed to go after the players in this market (largely players bound for college) but prioritized NT over college in the way they marketed and designed their league. In other words, they alienated the majority of their potential customers - not usually a good business model.

They didn't "prioritize" NT players. They offered an outlet to NT players, and also provided an additional outlet to college-bound players. While I am sure there are some, nobody I know had any interest in joining DA with NT aspirations. That is an often repeated myth.
