PLAY Sports, which stands for Promoting Local and Youth Sports, is a unique coalition of community and national sports organizations and leaders formed to support young athletes, working families, coaches and volunteers across all 50 states, particularly those in underserved areas, through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

In its absence, we’re reminded of the power of sport. Our mission is to ensure that the youth and local sports survive and thrive coming out of this pandemic, providing families and especially youth opportunities for physical and mental health, character and leadership development and repairing a society that needs community, connectivity and joy.

Really good information on here for those of you who are starting practices. Very detailed. Some of it you can skip since our Governor already opened youth sports but the logistics and concerns are all covered in their PDF.

As much as some of you disagree people will be on the fields. It is better to educate coaches and parents and get soccer started in a safe organized way than just rejecting making up the spring season. If you reject the idea you are actually being more irresponsible because now that the Governor opened youth sports the organizations need to do their job quickly so parents and coaches don't take it upon themselves to make up their own interpretations of CDC guidelines. In other words, start it up again legally with proper protocols or you aren't helping anyone.

Some things mentioned specifically about Soccer on page 27:
    ● As much as possible, keep players six feet apart from one another during warmups.
    ● Sanitize benches before and after each match.
    ● Consider situating benches as far apart as possible. If feasible, place benches on opposite sides of the field.
    ● No spitting. Goalkeepers should refrain from spitting on their gloves.
    ● Encourage substitutes to sit six feet apart from one another and wear masks while sitting on the bench.
    ● The signing of game cards should not be required. Referees should submit game cards online if available.

This is the only one I don't agree with.
"wear masks while sitting on the bench."
I think kids can sit 6-8 feet away but no masks because the kids need to drink water and catch their breath when subbed out. They need clean air.
