    USWNT uniforms

The new USWNT uniforms do not represent the USA. The blue is light and the numbers are rainbow. It is an obvious statement representing an adgenda. It is as much of a statement as the NFL players who are not standing for the National Anthem. Because it is a women's sport and can fly under the radar it does not immediately seem wrong but it is just as offensive as kneeling for our flag. It is an adgenda from a small but vocal segment of the population. If the team is truly representing the USA they should not use the uniform to make a personal statement. The USA is Red, White and Blue.

Most of the population segment does not mind the agenda. Try to open your mind and relax.

I do not think you are correct on that. I am not making a judgement on an individual persons lifestyle, I am saying that it is wrong to use the USWNT uniform to push an adgenda. The uniform should represent the country and our colors are Red, White, and Blue!

Wow - what a turd. Its really scary how vicious the right has become. The ignorance is astounding too. The new right is just a step away from the Nazis and is getting worse every day. People like this poster hate gays, blacks, Jews, Catholics, Hispanics, and view women as second class citizens put on this earth make white babies for them. If they get their way and implement their final solution there will be no America left - just a small collection of aging White men. Kneeling for the flag is a first amendment right. So is wearing a uniform which (at least in someone's eyes) gives a nod to LBGT rights. I"m amazed that any of these people even go to a soccer forum since its not an "American" game.

Couldn't find a pic of it anywhere so provide a link? The uniform they wore the other night still had plenty of a USA feel to it.

Anyway, the rainbow is about inclusivity, which is supposed to be American ideal. Given all the politicization around the flag lately a rainbow may be a better choice.

There's one or a few posters that use this forum to spew their political agendas.

Their uniforms have not be true red, white, and blue for some time. They have worn maroon, or some red wine colored red for months. The blue is a dark, almost black in color. Maybe they just need a new color chart instead of the left over colors from the Crayola box! They had yellow/green highlighter colors along with some shades of blue during the world cup. Grey warm ups with the highlighter colors. Not sure who is choosing the colors but it has nothing to do with the true colors of our country. And for those in the above posts who think our national colors should include rainbows then put those on your little girls and march them around your yard with LGBT...LMNOP signs on Saturday morning. That's someone else's agenda, not people who just want to watch a soccer game. Just wait until little Sally on your daughter's team, turns out to be "Sal" and your daughter starts sitting the bench! You'll be ripping those little rainbow bows right out of Sal's pigtails!

Ahhhh, the christian right at its finest. "Ripping those little rainbows right out of Sal's pigtails". Is that what you really think when you see a gay person? Run up to them and "rip" at them? Pull their hair and hurt them? Is that what Jesus would do? "True colors of our country"? You mean White?

Oh, how the trolls love to stir people up over a hot button issue.

These are not the "new" USWNT uniforms. The rainbow uniforms were created for pride month in June. They were worn in June only and haven't been worn since. Get a grip, people.

The trolls are a little late to the party as well. After the June games were over, the rainbow jerseys were auctioned off to charity.

Note to homophobes: You have a first amendment right to display your ignorance, but at least do some homework first.

You are just as judgmental and prejudice as the other poster. He/she didn't say crap about Christianity or Jesus so why throw that in there. Should we start a new term, Faith Baiting. We already have Race Baiters so I guess this is your angle.

Is it really expecting too much for them to just go out and play soccer without having to make a political statement? Anyone remember Tommie Smith and John Carlos?

This was back in June. Move on.

At least it's a subtle tasteful way to make a statement. And raise money for the cause at the same time. As opposed to kneeling during the National Anthem which most people misinterpret and condemn as unpatriotic because it's unclear what exactly the cause is.

I'm not a fan of using sports to make political statements, but if you're going to do it at least put some thought into it.
