The Thorns chose to subsidize cost to compete with ECNL in this marketplace. Not all GDA clubs are subsidizing costs.

When ECNL becomes less relevant and "elite" players have less choice in Oreogn, I am sure you will see a higher price tag to play in the Thorns Academy.
Too bad for Thorns and GDA that ECNL is actually showing to be MORE relevant than ever. Even the few good clubs that are testing the waters in GDA this year are already planning to focus on ECNL going forward. GDA has already proven to be a huge failure.

Not much of an offer if she is 2018 and has just now received an offer.

Of course there are kids doing unofficial visits now during the college season to watch the teams play. I would not really classify that as the coach is out recruiting players. Those are players the coach has already seen.

The original comment was meant to address the comment about how ecnl was already so far ahead of the Thorns already for this season. Reality is there are more Thorns 2018 then at CU or FCP and they have not played in a regular season Thorns game yet.

The problem is US Soccer is pushing GDA and they make the rules.

It is too bad because last year’s ECNL was a better product than the two diluted products that we have this year.

You do realize those 2018 Thorns players were offered spots where le they were playing ECNL?

How many coaches came to the Burlingame match?

Soon the DA will be the only relevant platform endorsed by US Soccer as the top tier for girls youth clubs and professional academies. Boys clubs are the proof of this process across the country. Now the NWSL champs will push forward with girls soccer domination.

MLS is the top tier by the same mechanism. NASL is suing US Soccer for being marginalized.

            It is what it is.

Great! So the women will soon not qualify for World Cup as well?!

GDA has been a failure. The thorns pro players win and now get to head over to the 7-11 to start their shift at the day job so they can afford to pay rent.

US Soccer is trying to crash the womens side so they can be as bad as the mens side.

US Soccer is in for a huge shakeup in the very near future. The failure to qualify for the World Cup proves that US Soccer has absolutely no clue. Heads will roll and failing programs like the GDA will be closed down. Just the facts.

Read before you respond. You are asking questions and commenting on items that are already stated in my original post.

GDA is a joke. Literally a joke.
