The RCL teams will take home the FWRL hardware and the Regionals spot every year. They view the FWRL as a bit of a joke but it's a good plan B for them just in case something goes wrong in state cup. Take a close look at the FWRL schedules this year and you'll see that most RCL teams haven't played but a couple of games. They all agreed to use league game results as substitutes for actually playing FWRL games...

This is not true for every age group. You may want to check the tables before making a statement like that.

Because the biggest club in the pdx metro area gets to have teams in the NWCL no matter what....we will have some teams play in OYSA and some teams in rcl....we will have most of our teams play NWCL and some do FWRL....we have these options unlike your club, that is why.

Just look at the teams competing in the FWRL. There is a reason things like NWCL exist. They are evolving a stagnated USYSA. There was a presentation that was linked on these forums a while back pretty much saying the same thing. It was from USYSA. They recognize it. Everyone loved the NWCL until the mass TA migration back to OYSA. Now, it's a who cares and FRWL is great. The reality is that it does matter and unfortunately the FRWL just isn't what you wish it were.

This is antiquated thinking. Soccer is moving away from state based competition and toward regional based competition. Look at the ECNL as an example. The DA is another example. Anyway you look at it, the top players and teams are no longer competing in the state cups, regionals, national process anymore. They are in the ECNL and DA.

There you go equating "biggest" with "best" again. The top players at your club do have options, and the one they usually choose is to leave for a real premier club south of the river...

The funny part is that they are breaking with the TA to continue playing in the NWCL. The first cracks are starting to show.....

nope. The difference between Wash Timbers and your club is that Wash timbers aren't a bunch of tight asses and dual card all players. Washington Timbers do this while they charge less than your club also.......must be nice to know that your club is making more money while your pay to play model kills your pocket book :)

The WA Timbers have 6 DOCs and don't like to be told what to do. Not a very good team player for the Timbers org.

They don't dual card "all" players. Only those who need to be dual carded. Which is about 10% of the total club membership (although it's higher this year as they jumped over the OYSA lemming cliff mid-year.

And please keep on believing that you're getting something for nothing at ***C. What you're getting by "saving" a couple hundred bucks is nothing but below average coaching and 3rd world facilities. Mud and promises...
