    Harmony Turf Project 15% Funded

Seems to be a lot of misinformation lately about the fields at Harmony. The club GM recently sent out a multi-page document explaining in detail the need for turf fields at Harmony, the funds raised to date ($325,000), the funds spent to date ($275,000 for turf, $50,000 for engineering and permitting). The document also explicitly states that the club needs to raise a total of $2,000,000 to realize this project and that "no construction will begin until all of the funding is secured". The last portion of the document outlines the many sponsorship and naming rights options available to local businesses if they support the project.

So, in summary, they are 15% of the way there...

Whoa! $2,000,000 in funding yet to secure?
I've been hearing the turf fields would be ready this fall.

At this rate, this venture may turn into a monumental boon-doggle.

Wait. So many in this thread said it would be ready in the fall. So this is not correct? I am confused.

          That's old news dude.
75% of the funds are secured.
Washington Premier owns the turf outright (paid $275,000 cash).
          Excavation has begun.
And they are doing all of this while charging the least amount of club fees in the pdx metro area with no plans to raise fees this coming year. So shut your pie hole :)
          Lol

That post was clearly meant to stir things up. Pulling up information from a year ago without mentioning the newest information... classy. It's one thing to be rude and name call. But blatant lies and mis-information with the intent to mislead people, it takes a different level of low. As Wa Timbers, we just need to keep going about our business. Even when the fields are done, creating not only a great place to play, but a profit center, people will still be on here bashing it.

That's what insecure people do - when they feel inferior, one of the best tactics is to attack those that are doing things right. It makes them feel better about themselves. Anyone with half a brain can see this field project is an unprecedented, positive story.

Blah blah blah blah. So when will these fields be completed exactly? A month by name would be specific enough. June? July? August? Also, in what year?

the answer to you is, no one needs to answer to you. why should anyone from the Wa Timbers submit an answer to some random hater on TS. if you are with the Wa Timbers, you likely know what is up right now, or if you don't, it's easily figured out with a phone call or email. there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes. it is a giant project for a non-profit local soccer club to take on. so it is not without risk and there are hurdles that will need to be addressed all the way up until it is released for use. But there is confidence and excitement amongst people within the club that it will get done. And clearly, giant steps have already been made which shows that it is much, much more than talk.

In the meantime, why don't you tell us what club you are from and when your club owned turf fields are going to be completed. Oh that's right your club probably has very little in it's bank account, doesn't communicate it's numbers to you, and certainly has no plans for club owned turf field complex.

They also pocket more than HALF the light fees per team. $700 for lights, but only $300 - 350 gets used. That's their business plan....three card Monty.

Oh aren't you a cute little fella! that DOES sound fun... for a 2nd grader. just a hint because I care deeply about my fellow humanity: it's cute and funny when a 6 year does it. it's creepy and shouts LOSER when a 40 year old man does it.
