Wonderful, thanks for starting this insightful thread. We’ll anxiously wait for the official announcement so you don’t blow your cover or somehow out your sources on this anonymous forum.

The dipshît OP can’t say where Burnett is going because he has no clue. Here’s his “insider source”...

7 players being shown the door says one thing—program isn’t good enough and RR needed to upgrade. The players all played, but simply weren’t good enough for them to reach the lofty heights and goals of the program.

If starters are being show the door imagine what's happening to the bench warmers.

The article is a little misleading, as at least 3 of the players listed are seniors, and an additional player mentioned is a GK. So starters aren’t really being “shown the door”. Sounds like JB has some issues with the staff? Can’t speak to the other two players mentioned.

The staff IS the problem. Ray has to go

Those days are over. When you have to fly the entire swim team to Houston, SMU, etc it adds up fast, but the soccer program should survive.

What they need to do is get rid of Ray Reid who is antagonistic to everyone except his wallet. He does nothing off field to facilitate growth or even 1/20th of what Morrone did to build good will, community relations, raise money or visibility.

Get someone that cares about UConn and the program will thrive again. Get back to the big east and make football independant. Ray Reid and This AD have to get the heave ho
It may have generated revenue back in the day but there is no way it ever got out of the red. You can't ever hope to cover pay for the coaches, travel, uniforms, insurance, support staff, trainers, field maintenance ..... by charging $2-3 (less than that on average when giving so many tickets to youth soccer programs) .... sorry, you just will never break even with a couple thousand fans, mostly students and the rest cheap tickets.

exactly the bonehead move to playing teams in texas, florida etc is going to crush the program. In the old days it was on a bus for three hrs tops and 1 or 2 big trips a year to national level programs. The Uconn men's team would play a solid big east group of teams, then 2-3 good ivy's and then two big trips to play top 10 teams. If that still existed then everything is in the black. No way Morrone made what Ray Reid makes and Ray does 1/10 of what Morrone did in the community.

Total loss these days. Fix the conference problem. Make football independent and go back to Big east.

A buddy's kid plays in the conference and he was telling me the intro of the UCONN staff over the PA was comical, that they had twice as many coaches as his kid's team did. His kid's team isn't that good but they had a very competitive match. UCONN did pretty well this year but I've heard the turnover is bad all the time there, not just this year.

How was it comical? Uconn has a head coach, two associates and a volunteer assistant. What in conference team does your buddy’s kid play for that doesn’t have the same?

And that has absolutely nothing to do with the OP’s statement about the number of coaches, but thanks for your input.
