The NY area is over-saturated with clubs and should be paired down but it's too bad they lost one of the better clubs.

It makes little sense for an MLS club to be involved with girls soccer since there's no money in it and no pro development for them to benefit from. MLS clubs are questioning their involvement with BDA too, so why would it do girls?

Between the influx of girls from my NYCFC and continuing to snag the best girls from Clarkstown once they hit U13, U14 World Class will have some very strong ECNL & ECNL 2 teams.

As another poster noted, the leagues are too screwed up right now. ECNL at least on the east coast seems to be the better option.

Graduating years are toss ups by state. CT is calendar birth year for school, mass maybe 10/1, Ohio 9/1 - don't quote me on anything other than CT but fact is graduation dates differ by state which means you are always going to have younger kids - only ones who care are parents of Q4 babies

Anyway, none of that matters when you're in high school. Any slight advantage or disadvantage you have for when you started school years ago has all but disappeared. Academic differences are gone by 3rd grade. Physical differences level out as kids finish puberty. College coaches dont know or care when you started kindergarten. They care about when you graduate and what you will do for them once you set foot on a college field.

Some parents red shirt (with good reason or not) and I would imagine it happens more in CT where the date is so late.

Just matters for what team the are on now and if the teams will change next year - playing with friends or a new team, etc. I have one that’s very young for her grade.

Wrong. Birth month matters in relation to sports year: https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/the-pr...onth-1.1291489

All the birth year vs calendar year debate does is change the date. You won't turn into a stud without certain genetic material and innate drive to succeed. The date wont' change that. Advantages are short lived for the typical athlete (and student). In high school and college you must be able to compete against 4 years, not just one. Parents who red shirt for athletics should have their heads examined (it happens).
