The group's*rival, FXE Futbol, had been involved with recently scrapped plans to develop the site as a water park and recreation center. It is proposing fields for a United Soccer League Championship team (one level higher than a USL One team), plus a a Topgolf attraction, restaurants and more.* “Right now, the [Fort Lauderdale] city commission has been star-struck by the name Beckham," FXE Managing Partner John P. Reynal said, according to MagicCity.soccer.*"And I don’t blame them! He’s a very good looking guy, used to be a great player, and he really revitalized the MLS. He deserves the recognition. "But*they’re offering to come in, take 30 acres of city land, pay $1 a year rent to build a private, enclosed facility with zero community involvement. We’re offering a project that’s open to the public, that will generate jobs for the city.”* Friday was a deadline for proposals for the site, and the City Commission will consider both proposals soon.*

The laziness of players here and the parents who believe they understand soccer and should be listened to because of their cultural background screws it all up. Without all players moving at all times - to anticipate where the ball will go and then where they should be should the ball go in that direction, possession soccer will not work. Too many kids do not move in anticipation so that the player who receives the ball has several options (good options - not kickball) as soon as they receive it. That movement cannot be had when the players are ultimately lazy. Also, when parents at home tell their kids how well they played - because parents and most people here, or so it seems, only sees what happens on the ball. They see Jag react and run fast when the ball is near or with him. Parents see home run kicks and yell “good job...” It is good to be supportive but I believe most of the people here really do not know what goes into playing soccer as a team and playing it well.

Oh, and the technical skills of many are amazingly subpar...

            lol

You wouldn't start this thread if your kid got picked.

Anyone that thinks a regular DA club is a better option than an MLS DA is completely out of touch.

I hold steadfast in my hope that global warming takes everything south of Lake Okechobee and returns it to the sea.
