“The AAC is weak”. The only D1 men’s conference with more teams in the Top 50 (RPI) than the AAC in the country is the ACC. The AAC and Big East are tied for 2nd in terms of # of teams in the Top 50. Both have more than the Big 10 or PAC 10.

Uconn will be just fine back in the Big East. They’ll battle for the league championship every year and will be back in the NCAA tourney in year one.

    Facts are facts.
Here’s a fact for you 48 teams make the NCAA, 24 of them at large. UCONN should make the NCAA every year but clearly they missed it 40% of the time. When in the tournament they barely get out of the second round

Hey Debbie Downer, why so anti-Uconn? Why exactly “should” they make it every year? As has been stated, the strength of the AAC based on RPI is second only to that of the ACC. Therefore it’s a tough league dummy. How about focusing on the positive and that they’ve made it 60% of the time, or 6 times in the last 10 years. How many programs can make that claim? Here’s a fact for you...Only 27.

        Maryland - 10
        Virginia - 10
        Indiana - 10
        Wake Forest - 9

Or ..... It's such a weak conference that the conference winner and 2nd team kill the rest of the week conference all year and get bids. Next question, with all of their regular season success, how have these AAC monsters faired in the NCAA tournament? First two rounds? Made it to the semis? Championships?

Yup. Uconn decision makers suck too. Look at AD's and their hires. Pathetic. Nothing merit based

Benedict is clueless but better than the stooge before him. None of the people are hiring great coaches at UConn. And sadly Ray Reid will stay there when he should have been gone 10 years ago. But what the heck you pay the AD 550k a year, you would think they would have a clue

School can't afford top coaching so this is what they get. Gino is the exception to the rule and probably wouldn't have happened if he was being hired now.
