IKR? The league lost its promise before it even rolled out then went downhill from there. It no longer was about the nation's best - it was about crushing ECNL and being the biggest league. The few solid clubs left are only there because they can't get into ECNL - either politics (NEFC) or geography (OW: Ct does not need three clubs).

It’s actually sad that we’re stuck playing GAL with the likes of LISC, CSA etc. Cmon most of the 1st teams on these clubs would not even make EDP top bracket. The issue we have is more clubs will depart GAL for ECNL, hope we can catch that boat.

No way ECNL lets in another CT club. The area is already over saturated

ECNL will not allow another badge because CFC and FSA are both sh!t

CT has 5 million residents it can support 3 clubs, we just lack the depth in coaching that other areas enjoy. Let’s imagine for a second what a CT club would look like if teams actually had a coaching staff versus a single coach. You can only do so much with one coach who likely coached 2 other teams in the club as well.

Wow, and I thought our population was decreasing because of upperclass migration and covid. Who knew we grew almost 50%. I guess Ned and Creepy Joes free stuff are really helping blue economies.

Do you even live in CT (population 3.5M and shrinking)? Did you know we have one of the oldest populations in the US? Did you know FSA and OW are only 20-ish minutes from one another, or that both aren't all that far from CFC either? Yes CFC and definitely FSA aren't top clubs, but splitting the player and coaching talent even further won't make matters better. OW isn't any better for coaching either, not by a long shot. They're not even a top GAL club. No way ECNL gives them a badge. They've already announced their max number of clubs and there's only like 6-7 slots left. They will cherry pick the last top GAL clubs or where there are still geographic holes. Neither applies to OW

although the clubs are close in proximity, for whatever reason over the years, most people have opted NOT to cross the river in terms of traveling. One side most of the kids play Oakwood and on the other most play FSA.

FACT: Oakwood will NEVER get ECNL for many reasons... all of which have been beat to death on this thread.

Oakwood get over it, you chose DA. You made your bed now lay in it.

Connecticut having two ECNL clubs as close as FSA and CFC is ridiculous. There is nowhere near the player pool to support them. A team a bit further south that could pull from southern CT, upper wstchester and putnam would make sense and could easily be a travel companion for WC.

CFC is competitive. FSA would be as well combining top talent from OW and FSA. Two ECNL teams in CT is no brainer. Plenty of talent for two teams.

Connecticut is not even close to having talent for two ECNL teams. Maybe one team with a very weak bench, at best. Worse, though, is Connecticut's ECNL clubs don't have the quality of coaches needed for an ECNL program (and OW is worse).

lol. FSA already has a bunch of OW players. Someone once said CT is big enough for 1.5 ECNL clubs. That's about right, although not practical :) Anyone who thinks we can support three is high, or a greedy club, or both
