If subbing rules are unlimited, no one should be able to run at that pace for 80 minutes against teams that sub wings, forwards and mids regularly. Its a different animal and messi would need a break .... if opponents always have fresher legs and make you work, no one could last.

I’m with you. That’s too many for a solid mix of development and performance. Part of being a team is understanding tendencies of your teammates and making quick decisions based on them. What would happen if we created a club with only 16? Just enough to rest wing backs and midfield. Wouldn’t that be worth paying a premium for? Feels like someone in CT should create a club based on these principles.
approximate Cost to run a team is about 40000. you can divide this by any number you want. 16 kids 2500 or 20 kids 2000. not including uniforms and outside tournaments and travel.

Then why do FSA and CFC have 20-26 on a roster at $3-4k per kid?

It costs more than that. Outdoor time. Indoor time. Tournament entries. Referees. Coach. GK coaches. Coach expenses. Admin expenses. Website. Without knowing what the coaches are paid it’s impossible to pinpoint it exactly, not to mention every team/club does different things with regards to training. Some split a field into quarters. Some use gyms in the winter. Some go once a week in the winter. Some go three times. The bigger and better the club, the more they do and the higher the cost. I’m also certain the club isn’t going to do it out of the goodness of their heart. I’m sure they make a profit. As they should.

Anything above the 40000 is pure profit for the club. Coaches fees are minimal regardless of how good they are at most 10000/team/year. Better coaches are given other duties in club to make additional money.

Big mortgages plus FSA is owned by business guys, not soccer people

That’s better than Susa. Hear they charge a ridiculous $4800

Not at all unexpected for ECNL - there's a lot of travel costs involved and (theoretically) you're paying for a better quality coach. For lower level teams it should be closer to $3K.

As for roster size? They're all businesses. Don't sign up for teams like that unless your kid is a starter and you're getting something out of it (coaching, league platform, exposure etc)

Wow. SUSA is very expensive. Albertson used to also be in that range before SUSA bought them. NYSC $4500+ as well. These clubs are totally out of control.
