I'm confused. You are going to have to explain this new twist.
So you are saying these are great students who are going to the university anyways and then happened to stumble onto the soccer field as well and then...ummmm....the coach said: "hey, since you're smart and attending this school, then maybe you should also just join my team" ?
Is that really your newest argument to bash TBU? Could you really, I mean really, be that stupid??
Notice all the boys names on that list? Yeah thought so.

No, it’s the ‘if you enroll at our school and make it towards the soccer field, we’ll pay for your books’ type of scholarship. ‘We don’t think you’re a player that’s going to change our program, but you can tutor other players’. It’s technically a scholarship (congratulations to all of your TBU players that fall into this category) and counts 1/16 towards a recruiting budget. #committed
Excellent point. TBU is actually famous nationally for only admitting 4.0 and above GPA players to their ECNL program. Rather than have soccer tryouts, they administer math and english competency exams. They also offer an excellent after practice SAT prep course. (which of course explains the losing record but decent number of recruits).
It's time to rethink your TBU hate strategy. This one is going nowhere.
Like the same financial aid that every other kid in the school applies for?
Do they have more financial aid options available?
Yea, they are treated the same as everyone else.
The draw of the Ivy’s for athletes is help with admittance. Players that would not get in otherwise, get into the school and get the academic support athletes typically get. No money though.

The Ivy's make up for lack of financial aid with need based grants. This is money donated by alumni which resides in the endowment and earmarked for very specific purposes. For example an ex-Yale baseball player might donate $1mm and specify that it should be used only for baseball recruits who made the team (and got into the school) but can't afford the tuition. There are no strings attached to this type of grant.

This is 100% correct. As part of a Cornell recruiting trip, we spent time in the Financial Aid office. The Ivy thing was new to us and you really have to change your mind-set if you have been thinking in terms of State Colleges.
The Ivys (and private Universities in general) have big pools of money that they have a great deal of control over. If your child is someone that the school desires they can tap into this money and "grant" it to you no strings attached and they can grant you a lot.
And this is just not true for women's soccer. If the law school debate team or marching band needs a tuba player, they have access to similar pots of money. Our son's best friend is attending Brown for next to nothing out of pocket because they wanted him.

Thanks for sharing this information.
Every now and then this form has some very useful information and decent discussions. Until the trolls start coming out and try to incite the masses.

Your turn ...
D-2 and D-3 .. I think that was the point. No top tier D-1

First you try to slam TBU with a no boys list, Now that a boys list has been provide. You come up with no top tier Div I. Which okay I give you that, UNF is not a top Div I soccer school. However, it is a pretty good academic school. In addition, everyone knows that Brennan could have went to a big time Div I, Clemson to name a few but the kid committed to early. What's your next excuse to slam TBU?
