When Western United merged with the Pioneers it was the same as merging with a PVJS team.

This is great if they win the NPL they will be ranked 750 in the United State right behind the acacademy and ECNL teams

Right, much lower then their current national rank of 19, regional ranking of 13 and state rank of 3rd. Of course those rankings don’t take into account they made it to the National Semifinals.

Yes congrats to a great group of kids. And congrats to the NEFC teams as well as the other teams from MA. Way to represent our state. Good job, those kids should all be proud of themselves for such a significant accomplishment.

WUP lost its luster years ago when better clubs cam along and they did nothing to improve its position....

WUP lost its luster years ago when better clubs cam along and they did nothing to improve its position....

It had nothing to do with better clubs, it was all about poor mismanagement all across the board. People have been burned in the past and they don’t forget. It will take some time if ever for them to turn it around. The bigger clubs have a lot to offer and if they ever start expanding NPL teams to make it easier for western mass kids to join without having to drive 1.5 hours each way for practices WUP as a whole will be in serious trouble.
