The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. If Thorns academy can’t admit they aren’t getting the majority of top players, they won’t be able to change things for the better. If Thorns Academy won’t admit they have a problem with players 12-20 getting almost no playing, they won’t change that and will continue to neither attract nor develop players. Having the academy in Oregon should be a very good thing for our female players. Sad that it isn’t. Hope things get better. A strong academy would help us all.

Of course, Thorns had present three players that are leaving their team too, but a win is the right direction against what is supposed to be the Top NW team heading back to the ECNL, leaving the DA. 2/3 games previous between these teams decided by 1 goal. Local Friendlies against similar talent benefit development for both teams. There should be more locally if coaches and DOCs would stop tripping over their own egos.

If there was a problem players would of got out and went back to the alliance teams they came from.
