In all seriousness, Oakwood does fine. Men's soccer is a different animal entirely. Funding isn't great at most schools and the coaches recruit heavy internationally. There are a few D1s in there which is exactly what you'd expect from a small team in CT.

The girls had another down year in terms of signings. The gap between them and CFCU is as large as it's ever been and about to get worse for 2019 and 2020.
Which won't help them in trying to get other players over. CFC players can play HS too. That's a very tough sell for OW. Even if GDA quickly ascends to #1 (hasn't yet) players still have to consider what their local options are.

So what specifically, is wrong with this list?

You’d think if you play dap, travel over all of the country for showcases and spend, spend, spend, that this list would be better. I’d expect this kind of list from sporting

Players could have gotten on just about any of those rosters playing high level club (in some cases not even "high level") and whatever grades they had. They gave up HS to land where they could have played elsewhere.

Not exactly soccer powerhouses are they? More like soccer shacks.

Compare to BS, another very mediocre DA club.

              Boston University
              University of Rhode Island
              Glenn Carnegie Mellon University
              Fairfield University
              Quinnipiac University
              Johns Hopkins University
              University of North Carolina
              Villanova University
              Marshall University

I'm not counting the St John's player as he only just joined BS and played for AC CT for years.

So what makes it mediocre in the first place? What makes the second list better than the first?

So OW is a better dap club than BS, however BS has better college placements........hmm, keep eating the veinless hot dogs and chase it down with koolaide

Marshall commit hasn’t played a game for BS

The way OW fans think they are all that and how much they play up the success of their players you’d think the list would be 10 times better. JOKEWOOD

OW, all talk and no show and getting weaker each year. Proof in college placements. Just another mediocre club in a mediocre soccer state, taughting themselves as a stand out national club, not

Frankly, I don't understand the point of this debate in the first place.

I don't see either of these lists as much of a "tell" about either club. Neither list is overwhelmingly impressive about anything (academics, soccer, etc.).

What's the point of contention here?

How many female players in CT have been called into a YNT camp in the last three years?

                            1) EJ from OW
                            2) CS from CFCU
                            3) JB from CFCU
                            4) LK from OW
                            5) KL from CFCU

                            Missing any?

BS has slight edge but n o its not earth shattering. It's also based in a greater concentration of great schools that send kids to lots of great universities. BS cosys more. Several players at both clubs have nothing listed. Other than UNC none are top soccer programs. Could players have achieved similar results playing elsewhere? Can't say as you can't go back in time. But if you follow that MA commitment thread you see that many non DA players land at good scools .

How many have made it past U20 or U23? We're a tiny state that gets some call ups bit that's all. We're no powerhouse that's for sure and I don't think it's just because we're small
