Sure......until its your kid. It's a dangerous game they're playing and some of us won't be here next year. IMO, some are looking forward to CFC or FSA.

Probably FSA depending on the age. CFC HS teams at 16 and above are basically a closed shop.

Make the move before recruiting age. OW already sucks at college placement and if you think coaches recruit from Benches you've got another thing coming.

Can’t wait to see where the gdap bench or even starters go in the future. Cfc ecnl has bench players going d1. Not great programs, but still d1. Ow gets l8k3 3 d1 players a yr in garbage teams or schools. A couple nice d3 and then a bunch of stuff your typical all league hs only player could walk on and make the team.

No one will drift toward ow. It's a slow trickle. They are all done. Just watch. Good riddance

Of course many DA clubs waiver HS kids but that doesn't mean it goes over well with those who do give up HS, play hard all fall and then get pushed aside. It's been an ongoing issue with BDA for years and some clubs don't waiver any players. Combine that with overall disappointment with club performance, coaching, placements and the club is ripe for loads of turnover. That said, since CFCU is essentially locked up by U15 (definitely for ECNL but NPL rosters could take a few) and FSA is a poor performing club, OW players aren't left with many options. Do you stick with GDA or go to FSA ECNL? Neither option is very appealing.

If they’re both less appealing options, the best choice is to go where you feel you’ll get maximum PT. No Brainer.

Why not travel north to Nefc ? Kids from mass come to CT

You would think so, but obviously lots of families get caught up in being on the "best" teams or in the "best" leagues, vs what is best for their player. Being a bench warmer in the best whatever doesn't do anyone any good.

I think you will see a lot of these OW GDA players showing up at FSA tryouts. They know that making a CFC ECNL roster or getting playing time if they do make the roster is an uphill battle based on the OW girls that left for CFC last summer. I know that my daughter is missing the high school experience and is looking at options for next year at FSA or another local club.

OW will be fine, just as it always has been. If your child plays there and isn't a consistent contributor, ask yourself why. It's likely because the players in front of her are better. If she's not a starter, then she needs to work harder to become one. The GDA isn't about creating a feel-good environment for 25+ players. Toughen up everyone!

You can't buy your daughter's protection, success, or comfort in a competitive forum let alone life.

The players who left OW for CFC are regretting it!

One thing for sure is your kid HAS to be playing. If they are buried on bench, they won't get better. Spare us the hyperbole of training to get better and games don't matter.

Well they got to play in HS which was probably their motivation in the first place.

The players that left Oakwood are becoming better players because they are playing against better players. Playing at much higher speed of play. Regretting it due to lack of playing time maybe but that’s on them. CFC 2002’s are the best team in CT
